The moment was profound.
The moment was mine.
The moment was all that I dreamt it could be.
Little did I know the moment would expire, how was I to know that moment would turn into my satire?
As my glitters tu...
It's ridiculous how something so thin as a single layer of clothing can feel like a barrier. She locked her legs around my hips, allowing me to hold her in place with one arm while the other hand explored her curves. Imagine my delight to discover there was one less barrier between us, no bra. She squirmed in my hold when my hand, intentionally, caressed the side of her breast. The roll of her hips against mine made me groan. If only I could remove this barrier, we would be skin on skin...
"Undress me," she whispered in between kisses, breathless, and seductively.
Shit, really? My breath caught at her words, she granted me my unspoken dirty little wish. "Are you sure?" I asked to confirm. I did not want to fuck things up with this girl.
Was this really happening? I thought, swallowing the lump in my throat.Well, I wasn't waiting for her to come to her senses, and declining her invitation would be very rude, right? The idyllic fantasy of walking her to the bed, throwing her down on it and ripping her t-shirt off like a caveman was just that—a fantasy. Reality chose to seize a different opportunity and opened the wrong door—the bedroom door.
"You're a moron, here see for yourself my brother would never...holy fff," a startled Bex trailed off, slamming the door shut again.
Melia stared at me with wide eyes. Uncertain of what just happened, I placed her back down. I had this nagging feeling while trying to pull her shirt back in to place, that I just got caught playing with someone else's doll.
Insecurity nibbled at my consciousness, reminding me of my naked torso. I turned to search for my shirt, but the door swung open once again, leaving me exposed.
"Get out of my way," Gabriel's angry voice boomed as he pushed Bex aside and stormed into the room. He glared at Melia's lack of clothing, her vulnerability under his stare made me angry.
Bex crossed her arms over her chest, leaning against the doorframe. "My bad, guess he would...and he did," she said sarcastically to Gabriel, a smug look on her face.
Gabriel ignored her remark and turned his attention to me. "Guess I don't know you as well as I thought," he said, looking me up and down.
"Listen, man, I am sorry...but I can't deny what I feel..." I said carefully, not in the mood to provoke him.
"Oh, you have some nerve," he said through gritted teeth.
"Gabriel, please don't do this...not with Axel," Marcel appeared behind him, touching his shoulder to emphasize the plea.
Gabriel shrugged his hand off. He glared at me for a few seconds longer, quietly, before he looked at Melia. "I don't know what I ever saw in you—"
"Don't you dare speak to her that way," I interrupted him before he could say another word.
Gabriel snapped his head to me, rage evident on his features. "Oh, look at you finally manning up and claiming a woman! You will just do what you always do, get bored then break her heart," he said going for the jugular.
"What is he talking about?" Melia asked, looking at me with concern.
"No Melia, he's just talking shit because he can't stand losing," I said, trying to ease her mind and roast Gabriel in the process.
"Ha, don't get me started on the issues you harbour—"
"Don't you dare Aims," Marcel interrupted his low blow.
I stood quietly glaring at Gabriel, trying to understand why he would go that route. Gabriel gave a menacing chuckle staring at all the shocked faces, he eventually settled his gaze on Melia again. "Such a shame, I could have given you the world, you could have cooked me dinner while I screw your friends. Now all you have is this dysfunctional man that can't give you shit, let alone allow you to touch him," he said, throwing me a look for good measure.
I sighed. It was hard to recognize my friend in him anymore. "Point is, asshole, she still chose me over you. That means in her mind you are less than me, as for the touching...we didn't seem to have a problem a moment ago when she had her legs wrapped around me," I said smugly.
He took the last few steps, to close the gap between us, and punched me square in the jaw. I saw the punch coming, everything seemed slow motion, but I chose to allow him some satisfaction. "Feeling better?" I asked touching the numb spot on my jaw, his blow didn't even make me flinch.
Gabriel huffed, but he had enough common sense not to provoke me into a fight. He stormed out of the room, and a minute later the slam of the front door shook the house.
"Are you okay?" Bex and Marcel asked concerned.
"Oh, he's fine that hit was nothing for a big heavyweight kickboxer like him," Landon dismissed their concern, a big grin on his face. At least someone was unfazed by it all. I could feel my chest tightening; panic was slowly rising in me.
"Here," Melia said, handing me my grey hoodie. I snatched it from her hands and immediately pulled it on, an instant relief washed over me. Mouthing a thank you to her I noticed the hurt behind the small smile she gave me. Gabriel's words left fresh wounds on her.
"Come here," I said reaching for her. She slowly shuffled into my arms. "He was just angry, he didn't mean it," I whispered into her ear. She just nodded her head in silence.
