I guess he had every right to go off on me. All I knew of Laurent was that he looked like Larry. That doesn't mean I couldn't find out more about him.
I walk back inside, closing the door softly behind me. I look at Laurent, to find he was already staring back at me. It sent a shiver down my spine as I made my way towards him.
As I stood before him, he leaned back to look up at me. Before I could start a sentence he help his hand up quickly.
"He told you how I watch him, no?" He asks.
"Pretty much," I say. He shook his head lightly.
"He's my twin, yet he never took the time to understand why I do this. He asks and I tell him but he never took his time to understand. But now he's all mad at you because you think I do nothing wrong. Belle, I've done so much wrong," He pauses, staring at me with his eyes slightly large and glossy. They drag up and down my body. He leans forward towards me. "I'm not afraid to do it again."
I gulp loudly, backing away slightly. I think I get where Larry was coming from about the girl thing. I want to run and apologize to him, hoping he was still here and didn't leave us two alone together.
"Look. Just know I'm not a threat. It's just when I'm separate from my brother or I see something I want I just act a little bit weird." He innocently grinned at me. Something didn't seem right.
As soon as he stopped talking, Larry walked through the door on the upper level. I looked at him immediately, hoping he could see my cry for help in the awkward situation.
He seem not to as he looked at something more interest on his wrist. But Laurent couldn't see him, so maybe I could fake something.
"Hey! Larry! You said need help with the light in your bedroom?" I yell suddenly, startling him and his brother, who hasn't bothered to look behind him. "I'm coming up to help you now— I'm sorry I'm just going to go deal with this real quick." I apologize to Laurent.
I rushed up the stares towards Larry in such panic, I managed to push him right back into his room, kicking the door close with my foot, and pushing him right onto his bed as I stood between his legs.
"Moela what the fuck!?" He yells and I cover his mouth. I hush him in the moment.
"I don't like it."
Confused, he moves his arms suddenly. "What?!"
"Lau—"
He sighed, sitting up and placing one of his hands on my waist. "How long was that.. two minutes. Okay. IMAGINE YOUR WHOLE LIFE WITH HIM." He whisper shouted.
"I'm sorry, he just seemed so nice to me. But it was getting creepy when he was taking to me. He shamelessly checked me out." I ranted on. I walked away from Larry circling around his room.
"God forbid I'm ever alone with him again he might try to make a move on me. Control him!"
"Okay now you need to calm down I'm sure it wasn't that bad."
"He basically said I'm something he wants." I summarize the situation his neutral face turned to a mad one.
He got up, and walked toward his bedroom door but I grabbed him by his hoodie. He turned around.
I can't lie, I'm terrified. "You're not about to tell him I said that, are you?"
He looked around confused and then a sarcastic smile. "Why not?"
"I think I'm good. Just take me home. Don't tell him please Larry." I begged him. He just kind of looked at me. "Larry! Please!"
"See if you would have listened to me we wouldn't be in this situation." He laughs at me. I was actually getting scared and he was laughing at me. Alrighty then. "But if touches you tell me."
As soon as he swung the door open we noticed something off. Laurent wasn't sitting in the couch anymore, but yet he was lingering close by the door, his eyes meeting mine immediately.
"You could've told me I was coming on too strong. I would've slowed it down." He smiled once again.
"See this is why I ask why you have to be like this. To her of all people. I'm taking her home Lau."
It was almost as if he has completely blocked his brother out of existence, his focus was completely on me. "Moela why so soon? I just got to know you. I wish I knew why."
"You were easedropping, I figured I wouldn't have to say. Larry, can we be on our way?" I've never seen someone smile drop so quickly. He reached his hand towards me, touching my arm.
"I'll see you around, Moela." Lau's smile never returned. He was being deadass serious. "Believe me."
Larry pulled me with him, his grip very harsh as we jogged down the stairs of the balcony inside his home to the front door.
He pulled me out of the front door of the condo with such strength, I yanked my arm away.
"Ow! Larry why so hard?" I say, rubbing my wrist. Worried he looked at my wrist, and kissed it.
"Sorry. We should get you home, before he Can follow us." He suggested rushing ahead.
"Follow me home? What the fuck?" I jog behind Larry trying to catch up with him. "He has to have a record."
"He's never been caught. There's no evidence, no complaints. He has a clean record. I tried turning him in once and just.. I won't do it again unless he were to actually hurt someone." Larry says in a voice of much regret.
I stopped. "What? Why?! He might fuck around and hurt me!"
He as well stopped in his tracks, turning to look at me. "If he ever lays a hand on you, tell me. I'll handle it so you won't get hurt trying to do something about it. He's dangerous, Moe." I caught up with him, as he then stood near the car.
"Has he ever been to any mental facilities?" I asked, seriously concerned about his brother's health. He shook his head, unlocking the car and opening the door for me.
"Non. He's not mentally ill or anything but he's always acted like that. The thought of Laurent no longer made me curious, yet it made my stomach churn.
"Thank you, Larry."
"No problem. I'll take you home as quickly and as quick as I can. Okay?" He says, the car door half open.
"Okay." I smiled at him.
