Chapter 15- The Rise

Alessia felt something poking her. She groaned and rolled over, but it kept on poking. She opened her eyes to find Septer beside her chained to the ball next to her. Alessia was dazed. She was used to being waked up by the rooster next door, and now she found her friend poking her in the same horrible situation as her!

"Septer! How did you get here?" Alessia asked sitting up.

"Same as you probably. I got taken here for...Kenna," She whispered saying her name. Alessia nodded then looked over to see Derick gone.

"Where's Derick?" She asked not thinking.

"Around here somewhere probably trying to devise a horrible scheme," Septer said with a sad tone. Alessia remembered that Derick had harassed Septer before. She hated him because of that, and probably other reasons.

"Is Peter around?" Alessia asked. She could see Septer's eyes tearing up. "What? Is he hurt or something?" Alessia asked in concern.

"I- I just came here unsuspected. I just miss him," She cried holding her hands up to her face. Septer was very emotional when it came to Peter. She loved him, more than Alessia had ever seen a person love someone else before.

"It'll be alright Septer. Trust me. I'm sure Derick isn't that bad of a guy once you get to know him," Alessia said trying to make her see that he was good.

"Are you listening to what you're saying? He is awful!" Septer cried trying to whip the tears. "I just miss Peter," She repeated sniffing.

"We'll get out of here soon. I promise," Alessia said smiling as Septer nodded. Then footsteps came up to the door. Septer whipped her tears and tried to hide her sadness. Then the door burst open and out came Derick who seemed to be pushed into the room. He stood there looking at the both of them frozen. His eyes widened when he saw Septer. Derick turned around and tried to turn the door nob, but it was locked.

"Let me out!" Derick cried beating on the door.

"I think he's gone crazy," Septer whispered to Alessia. Derick still beated then stopped. He turned around and sat down by the door breathing hard. Alessia could see his chest moving from him breathing hard. His hair looked like a mess, but it looked good. Then his eyes met hers. All she could think about was how adorable he looked and- "Alessia!" Septer whispered waving her hand in front of her face. Alessia shook her head and stared at Septer. "You okay? You look...dazed," Septer said looking concerned.

"Yeah, I'm f-fine," Alessia said shaking her head. Septer stared at her and looked confused, then turned to Derick giving him a scared look. It felt like the most awkwardest moment ever. Derick looking at Alessia gave her chills. Then Derick rose to his feet.

"Leave us alone!" Septer yelled backing up. Derick looked at her for a moment and then walked over to Alessia. She was frozen. Her face was blank and empty. He bent down across from Alessia and cupped his hands around her cheeks. Septer looked confused at why Alessia wasn't scared. She didn't know Derick and Alessia had, liked each other. Derick rested his head against hers as he stared into her blue eyes. She looked up at him and he smirked. His hair was pressed against his face and his piercing was smiling with him. Alessia looked at him as her eyes turned grey. "Alessia," Septer stuttered. He's thinking about kissing me. Alessia thought reading his mind.

"Hey," Derick said pulling her in closer. Alessia shook her head and turned to Septer who looked more scared than shocked. Then Derick realized the situation and let go of her, pulling his hands away. Septer just sat there confused.

"Septer, there's something I need to tel-" Alessia began.

"I can't believe this!" Septer butted in. "I know you think Derick is something special and everything, but he isn't," Septer said shaking her head. Derick just sat there biting his lip.

"Septer, it's different ok-" Alessia began again.

"No, it's not different!" Septer yelled. Her face was red with anger. "He kidnapped me...and harassed me. Can't you see he's a bad guy!" Septer yelled pointing at him.

"He's changed," Alessia said trying to explain.

"Changed? Changed what? Changed girls he is going to harass?!" Septer yelled. Alessia felt hurt. She didn't think Septer could be so angry. Alessia was frozen. Nothing she could do would make her change her mind? Alessia asked. She wasn't one to cry much, but she couldn't help feeling wounded. Septer shook her head. "I thought I warned you not to go near him. He was bad news! But now look at us, we are trapped. All because of you!" Septer yelled. Then tears sprung in Alessia's eyes. She sobbed into her hand.

"STOP!" Derick yelled looking at Septer. His muscles were tense and his hands were white from him squeezing them so hard.

"What do you mean, 'Stop'? You are the reason for this. Alessia just fell into your trap," Septer said narrowing her eyes at him. Then Derick came over to her.

"I changed okay!? I don't want to play games anymore!" Derick yelled at her. "Now stop hurting her..." He said as his voice toned down as he came over to Alessia.

"You're the one that is hurting her!" Septer said. Derick turned with anger in his eyes, but he saw no one. Septer had septered and was invisible. Alessia looked up, her eyes red from crying. She saw no Septer. She heard a faint sound of sobbing. Is she crying? Alessia asked herself. The sobbing continued on and she heard her sniffing.

"I'm sorry," Derick said looking towards Septer.

"What?" Septer sniffed. Her voice seemed to drift off into silence.

"I'm sorry for taking you. I'm sorry for being so mean," Derick said looking down. Then the sobbing stopped from Septer and it was silent.

"Why are you sorry?" Septer asked.

"Because Kenna made me do it," Derick said rubbing his face. Septer un-septered herself and paused. "Kenna," Derick began looking her direction. "Kenna is my mom," Derick spit out. Septer looked shocked, more than shocked, scared.

"You're mom?" Septer asked. Her eyes were now open wide and she looked at Alessia who sat there hugging her knees against her.

"That day I had the handcuffs in your room," Derick began as he put his fingers through his hair. "I was supposed to take you, but Alessia came and-" Derick paused and looked up at her. "I saw her eyes change to grey and she told me she could read my mind," Derick said as his voice seemed to fade. "She got me," Derick stated turning to Septer again.

"So you are saying you changed?" Septer asked as her eyebrows shrugged.

"Yes," Derick nodded. "So are we cool? No hard feelings?" He asked looking at her with honesty. Septer sighed and then looked up at him.

"I guess," Septer said nodding her head. Alessia smiled.

"Thank you Septer!" Alessia said smiling at her. "I would give you a hug, but you might disappear," Alessia said frowning.

"Thats okay. I understand you're happy for me," Septer nodded as they both smiled. "Wait- did you say you saw her eyes change to grey?" Septer asked turning to Derick. He nodded and shrugged his shoulders. Septer looked shocked.

"And Kenna saw them change," Alessia piped in. Septer shook her head. "What is it?" Alessia asked in concern.

"Only people with 'powers' can see your eyes change," Septer said looking up at Alessia. "So that means...Derick..." Septer said looking at him.

"No no no Septer! He doesn't have any power! It's like Peter can touch you without you septering, Derick is..." Alessia said turning to Derick.

"Acctually," Derick began. Both girls looked at him confused.

"Acctally what?" Alessia asked him.

"Acctually there is something I need to tell you," Derick said pressing his lips into a straight line.
