Chapter 20- Asad

"What the?!" Septer whispered. Alessia turned to see her, disappear out of fear. Alessia couldn't say she wasn't freaked out herself, she was. But Derick seemed fascinated instead of scared out of his mind like the two girls standing next to him were. Alessia suddenly made eye contact with the cougar and her eyes flickered grey. She read his mind! The cougar looked rather shocked to find someone staring inside his window and growled walking closer. She could hardly read his thoughts she was so scared! She ducked as her eyes turned back to blue.

"He-" Alessia began as the door opened to the cabin and the cougar came out. They all turned to watch him slowly move closer and closer to them. Septer was totally invisible, so it only looked like Derick and Alessia were spying on him. The cougar growled and then narrowed it's eyes then froze waiting for any sudden move. Derick held out his hand. Alessia's eyes widened. Does he want to get eaten first?! Alessia's thoughts yelled. The cougar opened it's mouth and Alessia closed her eyes holding her breath.

"Who are you?" The cougar asked. Alessia's eyes widened. She saw the boy change into the cougar, but it was still strange.

"I'm Derick and this is Alessia," Derick said as the cougar oddly shook Derick's hand.

"I'm Asad- you're not scared of me?" Asad asked with mixed expressions on his face. He sounded like a normal human. He sounded like a man.

"Nope. I understand you completely," Derick said releasing his hand from his. Alessia stood there trying to maintain a normal face, but her hands hurt and she couldn't hold back wincing.

"Are you alright?" The cougar asked looking at her hand.

"No actually. I- It burns," Alessia said looking down at her hands.

"Why don't we come inside? I can help you two get the...ash off your face," Asad said swishing his tail.

"Actually, three of us..." Derick said.

"Three?" Asad groaned.

"Me," Septer said relieving herself as the cougar shot back.

"Y-you-" Asad asked looking afraid.

"I'm not too different from you," Septer said shrugging her shoulders. Then in the distance thunder roared and the wind began blowing hard.

"Well, come inside anyway," Asad said swishing his tail and walking towards the door. They walked into the cabin. It was a beautiful wooden house with pictures hanging up of animals and things. It looked so cute and clean! There were even candles set up for the lighting.

"Stay away from that Derick," Septer muttered as Derick glared at her.

"You can wash off that cut of yours in the sink. If you don't mind, I- I'm going to change my uh..." Asad stuttered.

"Your form?" Alessia asked finishing his sentence.

"Yeah, I don't go back....clothed. I'll be back," The cougar muttered going into a room. Derick took her over to the sink and unrapped the cloth.

"Oww!" Alessia winced as he poured water over it.

"It's okay Alessia. Just look at me," Derick said smiling.

"But, I- I'll read your mind," Alessia said looking up at him. And she did read his mind. Her eyes turned grey as she looked back into her own reflection in his eyes. "You are thinking about..." Alessia said searching his mind. "...about how much blood there is on my hands, Derick!" Alessia said nudging him as he laughed.

"I can't help think about all that blood," Derick confessed.

"Even when it's my blood it's gross," Alessia said shaking her head.
