Her eyes were trained on his stiff form as he was crouched low ready to strike at any minute the caring men she had witness minutes ago had vanished.
Three men dressed in black had busted into the room and all of them had sharp and deadly weapons. Ready to end them at any moment. Quick on his feet he dodged an attack and kicked the middle one in the chest sending him flying backwards. With inhuman strength he yanked two of together and smashed their heads together.
Hitting one in the head with his elbow he picked up the knife and plunged it into his neck. Than quickly did the same with the other two. Surprisingly blood didn't get all over the room. He had just taken out three men by himself. Making sure that they didn't get anywhere near her or Abby.
Abby head was pressed against her shoulder. Lanoir kept her hand on her head so she wouldn't look at the dead bodies. Jaxs made quick work of cleaning the body out the room.
The sun was peaking through the trees so it was time for her to return Abby over to the police. Lanoir maybe plan of adopting her was thrown out the window. She didn't want to have her in any danger.
...
Lanoir bit her lip as she saw the police cruiser pull up. She had, had a hard time explain the broken door and window but she was forgiven once she she paid for the damages. They didn't ask any questions after she had gave them more than they needed to fix the windows.
"Will I ever get a chance to see you again Ms.Lanoir?' Abby asked while looking up at her her blonde hair flowing in the wind freely.
"I'm not sure honey, but I promise that i'm going to visit you and make sure you're well taken care of." she said. Lanoir would see that Abby was placed in a secure home and treated well.
"Alright Abby it's time to go now, say good bye." the officer said he had the back door open for her.
"Thank you for saving me. I hope to see you again. Bye bye." she said while hugging her legs tightly.
Lanoir reached down and wrapped her arms around her small frame. And closed her eyes her throat becoming tight as she tried not to cry.
Reaching into her pocket she took out a small silver heart shaped locket she had purchased from the motel gift shop. Slipping it around her neck.
"My number is inside the locket if something happens you call me okay?"
"Okay." she said while letting go of her legs. The officer reached over and grabbed her hand. Placing her in the car and buckling her seatbelt. Closing the passenger seat door, he walked over to her.
"She's being placed with her grandmother for now, the grandmother is a kind lady so she should be alright." he explained to her.
Nodding she said her goodbyes and they frove off. The dusting flying behind the tires as the car became smaller and smaller. Her blue eyes never leaving hers. Once Lanoir was certain that they were out of sight she allowed herself to cry. She had became attached to Abby in such a short of amount of time, and she was sad to see her go.
She felt strong supportive arms wrap around hers. Turning around she cried against his chest.
What she didn't realizes was that Jaxs was mentally punishing himself because he knew that he was the reason you couldn't keep the little girl you had become so attached to.
