After she had emerged herself into the hot soothing waters she watched as he joined her, making his way towards her body. burrowing himself into her chest his hands completely wrapped around her, hot tears marring her skin where his face was pressed, and she let him, let him take whatever he needed to take from her. While they were escaping Lanoir had seen that cold dark look in his eyes and knew that he had changed, that something was wrong. She had never seen him so broken and it broke her, she never wanted to see that look in his eyes ever again. Lanoir noticed that he only cried with her. He showed his emotional side only with her and she cherished the fact that he trusted her. Which was why she held him like he had held her, like he was still holding her, knowing that this moment and feeling was precious. She felt his lips move against her skin, his small words, soft murmur making her heart clench, making her fingers tighten over his head as they pressed closer to her bare chest. She felt his lips move and she heard the words, words he was whispering into her skin, etching into her heart, and she held him, knowing everything else could wait, her life she held back could wait, she would give it all up if she could have him forever. The deep realisation that settled in her was that this is what true love felt like. Lanoir didn't panic and drown her feelings, she embraced that she had fallen deeply and madly in love with Jaxs.
She took deep breath and held onto him tighter. He was her lifeline keeping her connected to reality and she never wanted to part from him.She felt his lips move, and her heart stilled, his words ringing in her ears even as he pressed reverent kisses into her skin, knowing what these words meant coming from him.
"You are my life, Lanoir. Everything is dead without you. I am dead without you. You are the only thing I care about in my life."
Lanoir closed her eyes and kept him close, her head leaning against his, a pleased smile on her lips because he knew aswell that he was her life as well But deep in her heart she knew that this happiness wouldn't last.
After they had removed themselves from the water quickly and dressed quickly. After that they just laid down and held each other. They needed to get back to a place where she was safe. They were still to close to the headquarters and still risked the chance of being caught. But Jaxs knew that your body was still sore from the harsh treatment that had been afflicted on you. He knew that he could allow you a day to just relax and heal, you needed it and your comfort was important to him.
...
Lanoir body was able to slowly heal in the three days that they stayed inside the secret cave. Jaxs had went out and hunted fish for her to eat.
She didn't care how she had looked once she smelled the cooked fish. She was starved and didn't care that she lack proper eating utensils. She ate until her stomach felt full and then went back to sleep. Every time she woke up he had food and water waiting for her.
She was finally able to move better on the third day and don't need Jaxs help as much. Lanoir was getting tired of staying in this cave and was ready to head out.
"I think I'm able to travel without limping so much." She said.
"We should start heading out tomorrow early in the morning let's rest up while we can." He said while leading her to the makeshift bed.
Laying down he wrapped his arms around her. His hand making small circles around her waist."
Lanoir didn't know why she was finding it so hard to say three simple words. But every time she she felt them on the tip of her tongue they wouldn't budge.
Frowning at her cowardness she closed her eyes and tried to sleep.
The next morning Lanoir was the first to wake up. That being a first in her book. Stretching her arms in the air she released the tension in her muscles. Jaxs didn't tell her what their next plan was. Hopefully it was leaving this cane and moving on to a different and more secure location.
Looking over her shoulder she gazed at his sleeping face. He looked so peaceful when he slept the worry and stress on his daily face disappeared. She hopped that one day he could live without the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Lifting her hand she traces her fingers down the side of his face mapping his features with her hand.
"I love you." She whispered
She found her declaration easier to give when he was sleep. She hoped she would get the courage to say it out loud.
She removed her fingers when his eyebrow twitched showing that he was waking up. Opening his eyes he swept the room and brought his eyes to her brown ones. Not saying anything he brought his hand to her face and traced her checked down to her lips. His thumb rubbing down her parted lips.
Closing her eyes she leaned in and nuzzled the palm of his hand. She felt content and safe whenever he touched her.She was sad when the moment had to end.
"We should head out while it's still early."his deep voice said.
Nodding she stood and prepared herself to leave.
Once they were packed they headed out. Walking through the woods they walked until they reached a camp ground. Luckily for them the campers had left their car. Lanoir knew that they shouldn't steal someone's car but given the situation she didn't let it bother her to much.
Jaxs opened her door once she was in he stepped over to the driver's side and started the engine. Driving down the road they were off.
Leaning her head against the window she allowed herself to gaze at the flashing scenery flying past them. She didn't know how long they drove but her eyes started to lower and she fell asleep.
