They were sitting in a diner two blocks away from the house. Lanoir had convinced him to go out with her and share a meal. They had been in the house for a whole week and they needed some fresh air. Lanoir wasn't complaining because she had been enjoying herself quite a lot and god did he have a magical tongue. But she was slightly sore from all the activities they had been doing together. Dressing casually they had walked the two blocks like a completely normal couple, with his arm around her shoulder, keeping her close to his side as she had kept hers looped around his waist. Lanoir was extremely happy and she wouldn't admit it just yet but she was in love.

Sitting down in a small table in the back, they ordered some food and laughed about silly things. Lanoir never imagined that they would be here. Having a normal dinner and just laughing. It was nice to see that Jaxs could let his guard down and actually smile and not to worry about killers trying to slice them apart all the time. After eating she needed to make a quick stop in the ladies room. Wiping her mouth she placed her napkin on the table.

"I have to pee before we go, Can you get some ice cream, but with no nuts, im allergic."she said while standing up

"Alright I get some vanilla and chocolate and then we can head back home." he said while leaving cash on the table.

Giving him a quick kiss she headed towards the bathroom stepping inside a small stall she did her business and walked out washed her hands  looking up at herself in the mirror she looked at her reflection. Hair in a low ponytail with small pieces of hair frame her face, her cheeks were flushed, a smile on her face that refused to leave and eyes sparkling. She had never seen herself look like this. She had never felt herself glow. But she was glowing and she couldn't deny it. And it was all because of the man who waited outside for her.

Lanoir shook her head, and went to the door, turning the knob. It didn't turn. Frowning, she looked down at the knob in her hand and twisted it again, only to find it jammed. Dang, how had this happened? It had been smooth as butter when she had come in two minutes ago. And her phone was back at the table with him. Sighing, she just raised her fist to bang on the wood when her gut churned, the hair on the back of her neck prickling.

Her hand froze midway, up in the air, and her entire body froze, only her heart picking up its pace as her antennas stood on alert. She closed her eyes for a brief second, feeling eyes on her, multiple eyes, and her arm broke out in goosebumps, her pulse skittering. A shiver traveled down her spine as she contemplated her plan of action. She could bang on the door and alert Jaxs, But she feared that he wouldn't get here before she was sliced up.

Slowly, not wanting to spook anyone behind her into doing anything hasty, she turned around on her feet, her heart sinking as she saw two casually dressed men in sweatshirts with their hoods up, and one small woman, almost as small as Lanoir, standing with them, wearing a similar sweatshirt but with the hood down, her white blonde hair like a beacon and her cool grey eyes trained on Lanoir. They just stood, without any weapons, but Lanoir knew how lethal they were, how lethal they could be the moment she made a wrong move.

Wetting her lips with the tip of her tongue, she swallowed, her heart thundering as adrenaline flooded her system. She just had to alert Jaxs. Somehow, she had to alert him.

She took a step back towards the door and saw the woman step forward while the men flanked her.

"Judas seems happy with you," the woman spoke in a low, husky voice, her grey eyes watching Lanoir more with curiosity than anything else.

"He is," Lanoir replied, happy to keep talking even though his other name made her feel weird. It was better than being dead though.

Surreptitiously moving her hand to the door behind her, Lanoir gripped the knob at her back, the cool metal under her palm keeping her focused and containing her shivers as she looked at the three people in front of her.

"What do you want?" she asked trying to control the shiver in her voice.

The woman stared back stoically, not responding. Lanoir almost asked them again just as someone knocked on the door, startling her.

"Lanoir?" she heard Jaxs voice call out softly from the other side, and her heart clenched, the urge to rip the door open somehow and throw herself in his arms, knowing nothing would even touch her there, overwhelming her.

The woman shook her head at Lanoir, pulling out a weird looking dagger casually and pointing it at her. Okay. Point taken.

Jaxs knocked again and the woman jerked with her head, telling Lanoir wordlessly to answer him.

Heart hammering, crushing that urge to shout and tell him what was going on, she kept her voice as steady as possible and spoke. "I'll be right out." she couldn't help that her voice was awarkly high pitched.

"I have the  ice cream for tonight" he said against the door.

Tears filled her eyes as she looked at the assassins, the knowledge that she wouldn't be going home tonight settling in her gut, curling something inside her into itself.

"Okay, great," she spoke, a tremor in her voice she knew he would hear. "With the nuts."

He knew she was allergic to nuts. She had just told him before she left to use the bathroom, he wouldn't forget something that serious.

There was silence for one long moment after she said that, right before Lanoir felt the knob turn a little, right under the hand she kept on it behind her back and she felt like screaming. Her heart shattered, knowing he was turning the knob, trying to check on her, knowing he would know it was jammed, knowing he was just on the other side of the door while she faced the three assassins. Her mouth trembled slightly but she inhaled, tamping the fear trying to invade her bones. It wouldn't do.

The knob stopped turning. She didn't know whether Jaxs was still on the other side of the door, but she didn't hear him, didn't feel the knob turn again. Removing her hand from behind her back, Lanoir tried to brace herself for the pain she was about to feel.

"Are you going to kill me?" she asked

The woman tilted her head to the side, not speaking another word. Taking out some rope from her pocket, the woman pointed the dagger at Lanoir's side, the demand for her hands silent but obvious. Quelling down the anger and fear mingling inside her, she extended her hands, knowing a fight would be futile at the moment. Lanoir knew that she would not win a fight against three trained killers.

The woman tied her wrists in front of her quickly and tightly, not giving her an inch to move, the ropes cutting into her skin  painfully.

One of the men came forward then, tall and big but not like Jaxs, his hood shadowing his face. With each step that he took, Lanoir felt her heart pound harder, the fear she was keeping at bay overpowering her and her knees shook, her mouth trembling and she closed her eyes, knowing she didn't have the strength to face whatever they were going to do to her. She kept her eyes closed, remembering that moment outside ten minutes ago when Jaxs had been laughing. She could see him clearly behind her eyes, his wonderful smile, that glint in his eyes, the pure happiness on his features and the soft way he looked at her.

A tear escaped her closed lids just as she felt a cloth press on her mouth, a pungent, acrid smell filling her nose, making her nostrils flare as she tried to pull away from it, only to find herself imprisoned in solid arms. She kept her eyes closed, staying in that happy place with Jaxs, seeing the way he nuzzled his head in her stomach in the mornings, the way he kissed her fluttering pulse. She let the memories wash over her, let them give her strength, let them lock in her mind as the door stayed locked behind her.

She didn't know whether they were going to kill her in a few minutes or take her someplace else. She didn't know when she was going to die. She didn't know if she would even see Jaxs again, didn't know what he would do when he found her gone. What she did know was she would lose it. He wouldn't be able to hold it when he found her missing, or god forbid, dead.

Lanoir tried not to faint as black spots danced in her vision, but she couldn't help it as a finger pressed against her neck making her eyes flutter shut. All she could think about was Jaxs and she prayed he would save her once again.
