During the school Joshua kept on giving me weird glances, probably to get to know my answer. I tried my hardest not to talk to him. Only explained the tasks that we had to do and avoided questions that weren't about the lesson. Luckily, today we didn't have English so I didn't have to talk to him that much.
The last period of the school finally ended I was packing my stuff ready to go home when Josh reached for my arm. "You know that I was serious about the challenge of us becoming friends." He gave me a warm smile. "Think about it please and let me know your answer tomorrow. Okay?"
I didn't reply just yanked my arm out of his and was on my way home. This guy is driving me insane. Why am I so unlucky to be stuck with him. I sighed.
"Jaehyo, dinner is ready!" I reared my mum call me from downstairs. I put my books away and went downstairs.
I got my bowl of rice and started to eat.
"So how was school today?" Mom asked.
"Pretty normal, I guess." I said as I reached for a piece of fish.
"You seem upset somehow."
"What do you mean? I'm not. Just a little tired, that's all."
"If you sure. But if you want to to talk I'm always here to listen."
I just nodded and the rest of the dinner we ate in silence.
After we finished dinner I went to my room. I picked the text book from before. I had to catch up on the lessons that I missed. Once it was eleven I finally put the book down and and went to bed.
I think I might as well agree to this pervert playboy. He's not going to leave me alone either way. This way he might be less annoying I hope. "I won't lose to you." I said a bit too loud. Hopeing I didn't wake mom up.
The next morning when I was on my way to school three girls approached me. I think they're from my class. "Min Jaehyo, just because you're smart you think you can keep our Joshua all to yourself?"
"It's not my intention to keep him all to myself. I was assigned to play translator for him. You can take your Joshua for all I care. That would actually make my life that much easier."
"Jaehyo! Don't you dare talk bad about him in front of us!"
"Didn't you just tell me to leave him alone? By the way what was your name again?" I said coldly.
"This punk. Who do you think you are?" She gave me a cold look. "You think you're so high and mighty that you even don't bother to learn your classmates names. I'm Sowoo by the way."
"Alright Sowoo. Now if you'd excuse me I have to go to class." My voice sounded cold as ever.
"You're going to regret ever messing with us!" Sowoo sounded annoyed. I, however, chose to ignore it and continued on walking.
Once I got to the class Joshua was already in his seat. He waved and smiled at me once I walked in.
"So have you decided?" Smile never left his lips as he asked.
"Alright, since you're not going to leave me alone either way I might as well call it a deal." I sighed.
"Great choice."
"Now if you excuse me for a moment I have to study." I said as I took out my notes and started to read through them. "Oh, and by the way, just know that I will not lose to such playboy pervert like you. I'm just agreeing in order for you to leave me alone."
"Whatever you say princess." He gave me the most annoying smirk.
The rest of the day flew by fast. Until the English period. During this time I was asked to go with Joshua to the library and give him Korean lessons. At least this was the last period. I'd be finally free.
I just decided to teach him the Hangul. I gave him a piece of paper with Hangul on and the English pronunciation above each of the letters. "So this is Hangul. It's the Korean alphabet. For now just try to memorize the letters and sounds. Make notes, read out loud whatever makes you most comfortable to memorize them." I said making it obvious I'm bored.
Whilst he was doing that I took my textbook and started to read over it. I still have to focus on my studies so that my grades wouldn't decrease even by one percent. I can't afford any slip ups in my studies. He is bound to get bored of me any time now. Hopefully, the school is going to hire a professional and let me go back to my old life style.
Suddenly, I felt someone grabbing my wrist. Which made me jump a little bit. "Jaehyo? Are you alright. I've been calling your name for the past five minutes. Is something the matter?" What, the past five minutes?
"What seriously, sorry I must have zoned out a bit."
"Really? That doesn't sound like you, one bit. Jaehyo, the top student zoning out whilst studying." He gave me a concerned look.
"Well, apparently it's true. Deal with it. There's just a lot on my mind right now." I looked at my watch. "What? The lesson ended ten minutes ago?! I barely done any studying!"
"You know what, since were friends why don't we go for a walk or something. To give your head a little break since this studying twenty-four/seven clearly isn't good for you."
"I'd rather go home and rest. By the way. I agreed to the deal. I never said that I agree on being your friend. " I said coldly as I started to pack my bag. After that I headed to the class to get the rest of my stuff however my desk had some writing scribbled on it. I didn't even bother on reading of any of the stuff scribbled on.
"What is all of this stuff. Bitch, whore, thief, Ice Queen. What do all of them mean. Who wrote all of these stuff." I heard Joshua's voice over my shoulder. He sounded a bit upset, obviously not understanding the things he just read out. Joshua took my coat and then my wrist and started to drag me out of the class.
