I woke up to my phone ringing. "Who'd be calling this early in the morning?" I questioned as I reached for my phone.
"Hello?" I answered without checking the caller ID.
"Hi sleepy head. I'm heading to your house to pick you up. I'll be there in twenty minutes, you better be ready by then."
"But it's too early, I don't want to." I argued.
"Well, it was your idea that the looser has to be the winner's slave for the whole day. And just to remind you, you're the one who lost."
"Jerk." I sighed. "Alright." I hung up and did my morning routine. Once I was done and ready I walked to the kitchen to get some breakfast.
I heard knocking on the door. I frowned a little as I walked to the door.
"What do you want."
"Good morning to you too." Joshua smiled.
"You didn't answer my question." I said after waiting a moment.
"You'll see. Get ready." He said.
I sighed as I put my shoes on and headed out.
"Lets hold hands." He said stretching his hand towards me.
"What?" I looked at him in disbelief. "No."
"Aren't you my slave till the end of today?"
"But this is different. It's weird."
Joshua took few steps towards me and took my hand. "See, it wasn't that hard. Now, was it?"
"I mean, it still is weird. People are looking." Why is my heart acting like this all of the sudden. It's beating so fast I actually can feel it in my chest.
Joshua looked at me and chuckled a bit. "Your face is all read. Are you alright?"
"Obviously not. I mean who in their right mind grabs someone's hand, without a reason."
"That someone's boyfriend." Joshua said as if it was the most obvious thing on the planet.
"But isn't it too soon to hold hands?"
"Well. This is our third date after all. I think it's about time that we start holding hands."
"Maybe in Britain it's what couples do but I don't think that people do this here, in Korea."
"That's actually not true even in Korea couples hold hands. Even as soon as their first date."
"How would you know?" I asked. He might be saying it, just for the sake of saying it. Or to make me feel more comfortable. But it didn't work.
"Do you really want to know?" He asked as he looked me straight in the eyes. His smile slowly faded. "You might really hate me after this, do you still want to know?"
I didn't know how to respond so I just nodded slightly, but why is he so serious all of the sudden. He sat on a bench. I did the same as he took a deep breath. "Well you see. I visited Korea quite a lot in the last phew years. Girls would always talk to me during the time. I took the chance to ask one of the girls out, after a while I dumped her for another one. I don't know why but I asked girls out and dumped them once I gotten bored. One day I even lost count of how many hearts I broke. Both in England and Korea."
I was shocked. Was I also just something to pass the time? Was I just another one of these girls he just talked about? "I knew you were a jerk and a playboy but not to this extent!" I screamed as I ran off.
Why won't the tears stop overflowing? This Playboy Jerk. Should I even be upset? I can't believe I even let my grades drop because of this guy. "Stupid jerk!" I shouted into the air as my knees were getting weak from all of the emotions. Should I be glad he told me beforehand? How could someone be so heartless? And here I thought he was a nice guy that actually cared about me.
"Jaehyo! Where are you?!" Was that Joshua? His voice still seemed like he was far away so I took the time I had to find a place where I could hide. I really don't want to see him. I'm not just some toy that can be thrown away. I also have feelings, even if people do call me Ice Queen.
I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. I froze. How did he find me that quickly, he was way too far to get to me that fast. I slowly turned round, however the person now in front of me wasn't Joshua. "Hey there beautiful, are you lost?" The man asked.
"Um. No. But I need to be on my way." I said trying my best to avoid the two men.
"You look like you've been crying, want to go and have some fun withus. We'll make you feel better." Another man said.
"I'll pass." I was getting scared. Who were these men and what did they want?
"Come on. I promise, you won't regret it." The guy tried to grab my arm.
"Leave her alone!" I heard Joshua's voice. He ran around the two guys and grabbed my wrist. "Come on." He said as he pulled me with him.
We ran a bit before he stopped.
"Uh, thank you for saving me back there." I said as I looked on the ground.
"I'm sorry, for upsetting you. The things I told you. Although they might be true. I'd prefer to leave them in the past. And stop behaving like such a jerk." He paused. Probably thinking of what words to use. "I really have fallen for you Jaehyo. You're the first girl, I ever felt this way about. Jaehyo. I really do love you. But I'll understand if you don't want to see me ever again."
What am I meant to say now? How should I react? Is he even being serious or does he want pity from me? This is making me so confused, the whole situation. The whole day. We ended up just standing there, looking at the ground. Joshua waiting for my response whilst I didn't knowing what to do.
"Y-you're going to have to give me some time. I need to think about it." I said after a while.
(A/N: Sorry today's only a single update. Tomorrow I probably won't be able to update either. I'll try to do a double update on the 1st though. Thank you for reading.)
