~Joshua's P.O.V~
Jaehyo seems weird today. She's tired and doesn't look like she's able to concentrate. She even got in trouble with a teacher because of that. Is it my fault. Was I too harsh? Why did I even say such harsh things to her. But right now I'm not sure if I should apologize to her or not, wouldn't seeing me make her even more upset, if not angry.
"Suits her right!" Minjin laughed from Jaehyo's misfortune.
"I would really appreciate you not talk about Jaehyo that way." These girls were seriously starting to annoy me. Jaehyo was suffering and it was my foult.
~Jaehyo's P.O.V~
Today was such a long day. I thought as I sighed. I was just on my way home. The teacher said she'd let me off this once since I have a pretty bad head injury and this might be the reason I couldn't concentrate.
Tomorrow I'd have to try harder, I don't want mom being called to school, she already is so busy.
As I got home I went up to my room. I took out my phone and unconsciously dialed Joshua's number. Why can't I stop thinking about him? I looked at the number for about five minuted before deciding to type. "Hi Joshua, could we meet up after school tomorrow at the park behind school? I'll understand if you don't want to. You have every right not to show up but I'll be waiting." My finger hovered above the 'send' button. After a moment I sealed my fate by sending the message.
The next morning I woke up and did all of my morning routines. I just realized that I haven't eaten anything yesterday. I went to the kitchen to grab an apple for breakfast. I took few bites but didn't really feel like eating. In the end I ate half of the apple and threw the rest away. At least I did manage to eat something. I took my books into my bag and walked out of the house.
On my way to school I encountered Sowoo and her gang.
"Is something the matter?" I asked, my expression making it clear I didn't want anything to do with them.
"Because of you b*tch, Joshua doesn't want to talk to us and he's cold towards us. What did you do to him Ice Queen. Take your curse off of him right now you witch." Sowoo gave a irotated look.
"You think that just because you had a little injury you can act like the most hurt person in the world and everyone will take pity on you. Newsflash, no matter how much you try, you will never be the center of attention because that spot is taken by us and Joshua. So stop your attention and pity seeking act because that just shows what a whore you really are." The other one said.
"Anything else to say. If not, I'll be leaving." I said coldly as I walked away from them.
As I walked into the class room Joshua was already in. What's weird is that he was at my desk, looking like he's wiping something off. "Joshua? What are you doing?" I said quietly, more to myself than him.
"Oh, um. Jaehyo. I was just asked to clean the classroom, since I was the first one here. I just thought that leaving your table out would be rude." Somehow his voice was weird. As if he was trying to hid something.
"It's alright. I can do it." I said as I walked towards the table.
"It's alright. You don't have to see this." Now I was even more confused.
"What is he hiding. It's weird." I mumbled.
"No, me? I'm not hiding anything. Just cleaning." He laughed. However I'm sure I said the last part in Korean plus I don't think I even said it that loud. Weird. "I'd really prefer you to leave the class until I finish." He then walked away from the table and walked towards me. I could see some scribbles on it for a brief second as the boy turned me towards the door and pushed me out.
"What are you doing? I can wash them off myself."
"Them?"
"The scribbles. You don't have to worry about them. It happens often to me. Plus, I doubt wet towel will be able to do much." I said as I walked in the class. "Baby wipes work much faster." I gave him a little smirk as I pulled out a box of wipes and walked towards the table. "Oh, and thank you." I said that part a bit quieter and kept my eyes on the table as I said it.
"For what?"
"For trying to hide this from me. I thought you'd hate me after what I did to you. I'm sorry." I had to blink tears away as I kept my sight fixed on wiping the table.
"In the end I didn't manage to hide it though so you don't have to thank me. Also, I should be the one apologizing." He said as he took another wipe from the box. "I shouldn't have said all these things to you."
As we finished wiping my table I tried to straighten up, but felt dizzy and lost my footing. Luckily, Josh caught me. "Oh. Um, sorry. I just didn't want you to fall and get hurt." He explained as he slowly and nervously let go of me.
"It's alright." I smiled a little. "Thank you."
Joshua then looked at me with concern a little bit. "Jaehyo? Have you been eating well. You look a little pale and weak."
"Well, I had few bites of apple this morning. Wasn't really hungry to begin with." As I said that he held out a chocolate bar towards me.
"You should feel better after this." He gave me a smile but it quickly changed into a serious look. "Don't you ever skip meals ever again. It's very unhealthy."
"I'll try not to. Thank you." I said as I took the chocolate from his hand. I then went to throw away the wipes and sat down and opened the chocolate bar. "Um. Joshua?" I paused. trying to get the right words. "Would you mind if we became friends again? Of cause I promise I'll be nicer to you." I looked up nervously only to see Joshua giving me a mischievous smirk "I-I mean, you have every right to refuse. I was just wondering. That's all." His smirk made me nervous.
"You know that this would mean that I won the bet." He continued to smirk as I could feel my face grow warm.
