When I woke up and did all of my morning routine I waited in the kitchen. It was now past the time that I'd normally head out. Where is he? Maybe he's just running late.
After waiting ten more minutes I decided to go to school. Joshua just might have forgotten about coming to get me. At this point I decided to run to school just to be early and get at least a bit of studying from last week done.
I sat at my desk. Surprised why Joshua wasn't even in school yet. He usually was here by now, so I was surprised why he wasn't. Choosing to forget about it, I got out my note book and started to read over the notes I made. Because of Joshua I wasn't able to get much studying done this weekend.
I was very disappointed that Joshua wasn't here yet. I was really looking forward to walking to school together. We were meant to spend the day together. Besides, I wanted to tell him something. Something very important.
Just as the first brake started I received a text from Joshua. "Hi Jaehyo. Something came up. I'll explain everything once I get to school. I'm sorry I didn't pick you up today and that I'm late. I hope you got to school safely. I'm very sorry." What was the text message meant too mean?
I just replied with. "Alright. Be safe."
It was weird not seeing Joshua next to me during the day. So far four lessons have passed and Joshua still wasn't here yet. The lunch was after this lesson. Where is he?
As the class ended I went to the gate of the school and took my phone out to ring Joshua. After a while he picked up. "Sorry, I'll be there in five minutes." Joshua sounded as if he was running. Before I could say anything he hung up.
I decided just to sit on the bench and wait for him to arrive. Sure enough he came running through the school gate not long after the call. He stopped as soon as he saw me.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Have you eaten yet?" He asked.
"No, not yet. Have you?"
He shuck his head as he took out a lunch box with sandwiches. "Take one." He gave me a cute smile.
"Thank you." I smiled at him as I reached for the sandwich.
He took the other one. "Sorry I'm so late. I was on my way to go pick you up when I saw a child that just collapsed. So I took him to the hospital. The hospital rang the child's parents but they couldn't come so I just stayed with him until he gets all of the necessary checkups done. Sorry that you had to wait."
"Really. I think that this was a very nice thing to do. You could have called me though. I was worried that you ran into some trouble or that you're seeing someone or something like that." As I said the last part I put my head down. Why did I even say that.
Joshua laughed a little. "I'm sorry for making you worry." He gave me another gentle smile. "And as to me seeing someone. The only person I'm seeing is you, Jaehyo. I promis." He said as he put his hand around me giving me a side hug. He looked at me. "Normally you'd push me away by now. What's the special occasion?"
"It's just that it feels warm and nice somehow." I said starting to feel my cheeks go red. What is wrong with me?
"Um Josh? I actually wanted to talk to you about something." I said after a while of us sitting in silence.
"What did you want to talk about then?" He looked at me giving me his full attention.
"I just wanted to tell you that I. Um. I left my bag in the class." I could feel my face growing even more red than it already was. "I'll go get it then." I stood up and left. I was so embarrassed. This was not what I wanted to say.
I walked into the bathroom. As I looked into the mirror. My blush gone already. "Why can't I say it. It's only three short words. Nothing too complicated. So why am I having such a problem with it."
Then I went into the classroom. Tearing one piece of paper out of my note book I scribbled the tree words on it just in case I can't say it again this time. After putting it into my pocket I went to join Joshua.
"Where's your bag?" He asked, giving me a confused look.
"Well. Actually I didn't need my bag. I needed to get something out of my bag." I explained. Trying not to sound too crazy.
"Is that so? So then did you get what you needed?"
"Um. Yes." I sat next to him.
"So then what did you need?" He questioned. Is he up to something? This jerk.
"I just needed to check something. That's all."
"Jaehyo? You know. You're acting really weird today. Did something happen?" He pointed out.
"No, nothing happened." I say plainly.
"Joshua." I said after a moment of silence. "I lo- lost my maths book." I mentally facepalmed myself. What is wrong with me?!
"So is maths book what were looking for? But we don't have maths today."
~Joshua's P.O.V~
She is trying way too hard. I don't know if I'm being cruel to her by pretending to be clueless of what she is trying to say. But at the same time she's being way too cute.
During the rest of the day Jaehyo didn't say another word to me.
"Jaehyo. Let me walk you home. You really don't act like yourself today." I offered.
"I'm alright really. You don't have to worry about me. I'll walk by myself."
"Even if you say so, I'm still walking you home."
She just sighed in response and didn't say anything.
As we were close to her house she pulled out a piece of paper from her pocket and gave it to me. I looked at the writing. "I love you." I read it. "I love you too." I said as I walked closer to her and gave her a hug.
Then both of us looked into each other's eyes. I leaned in. She just closed her eyes as I planted a kiss on her soft lips.
