Cole pulled behind the store to avoid any wandering eyes that may be lurking around the town square. "Last chance, we can leave right now and go back to my place," he offered.

"I'm sure you would love that, but I've already left my store unattended for long enough." I gathered my purse and coffee into my arms. Cole noticed my car was in desperate need of an oil change yesterday and he volunteered to take it to get serviced. Knowing myself it would be months before I made the time to do it so I agreed to let him take care of it.

"The girls had it under control," he assured me. "I'll be back here at four to pick you up."

I nodded. "Sounds good."

He leaned across the center console, gently placing his hands on either side of my face, he gave me a slow lingering kiss. "Stay with me," he whispered.

"I-," my eyes fluttered closed as I struggled to get my thoughts together. "I can't."

He groaned, "It was worth a shot."

I gave him one last peck on the lips. "I'll see you at four."

I wasn't inside for more than a minute or two before there was a knock at the back door. Cole stood at the door with my forgotten planner in his hand. "You forgot this."

"Ah, thank you," I exhaled. I was lost without my planner. Trish has been trying to get me to go digital for years but I could never make the switch. It's something about writing everything down that just scratches my brain the right way, not to mention all the accessories you can have nowadays. You can't do that on a computer.

"You just saved my day."

Cole leaned against the doorframe. "What do I get for saving the day?"

"A thank you," I deadpanned.

Cole smirked. "I think a kiss would make me feel a little bit more appreciated."

"Would it really?"

He nodded. "And not just on the cheek either."

I laughed. "Okay, you've earned it." Giggling, I let Cole pull me into his arms for yet another steamy kiss that left me breathless and wanting to spend another full day with him.

He rested his forehead against mine. "Are you one hundred percent sure you don't want to run away with me?"

I let out a slow breath. "It's not that I don't want to, it's that I can't. It would be irresponsible."

"Who says you have to be responsible all the time?"

I pushed him away. "Go, before you cause more trouble."

"Goodbye, my love."

"Oh. My. God."

I spun around to find Destiny and Melody staring at me with wide eyes and gaping mouths.

I cleared my throat. "Uh, good morning, girls," I closed the door behind me. "How long have you been here?"

"Long enough to hear that you and Cole are in love!" Melody screeched in a sudden lapse of character. She's really come out of her shell the last few weeks. Destiny's influence I'm sure. "When did this happen?"

"I told you there was something there," Destiny gloated.  "But you said I was crazy."

"I said you were crazy because you are crazy not because I didn't think it was true."

"Either way, that kiss tells you everything you need to know." Destiny shivered, "Woo, almost made me break into a sweat."

I suddenly felt embarrassed about Cole and I's display of affection. P.D.A is not my thing, never will be my thing. A little peck and some hand holding is as much as I've ever been willing to do now all of a sudden I'm making out in front of my employees. That is not a good look.
