Chapter 8: Shopping For The Baby

As Long As I Have You

Chapter 8:

~Last Time~

“There’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a really long time.” She says and leans in towards Emily and kisses her. Emily kisses back then pulls away slowly smiling. “Totally worth the wait I must say.” She smiles big. Emily nods in agreement. “Yes it was.”
“I’m so glad that you like me too.” Emily says.

~Now~

Emily and Ali sit downstairs on Ali's couch and watch a movie together. "This movie is pretty good." Emily smiles. "Yeah, It is." Ali says while gently rubbing her small baby bump. "Are you hungry if so I could make something for us." Emily says.
"I'm kind of hungry but not too bad. You can make us something though if you want to." She smiles.

"I'll go make us a little something." Emily says and gets up off the couch walking to the kitchen. "How about I just make us a snack, Like some cookies. Maybe chocolate chip." She goes to the cabinets getting out the ingredients she needs and mixes them all together.

Emily gets a cookie sheet out and puts the cookie dough on it placing it into the oven and cooking them. Ali gets up and walks to the kitchen. "How long till they are ready?" She looked at Emily. Emily looks at her watch. "About 10 to 15 minutes." She smiles and goes to the fridge pouring each of them a glass of milk to drink with the cookies.

...

A little while later Ali is asleep on the couch while Emily is finishing up another episode of the show they started watching.
"Wow that was a good episode." Emily says quietly and turns the TV off before deciding to get up. "I shouldn't wake her up she really needs her sleep." She says and picks Ali up carefully and carries her upstairs bridal style then lays her down gently in the bed and pulls the covers over her before leaning over and kissing her forehead. "Goodnight Ali." She walks to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
Ali lays in the bed smiling in her sleep because she felt Emily kiss her forehead and she begins to have a dream of them all 3 together as a family. Emily finishes getting ready for bed then comes back into the bedroom and gets into bed carefully so that she doesn't wake Ali up then she pulls the covers up over herself and closes her eyes slowly falling asleep too.

...

The next morning Ali wakes up before Emily and gets out of bed walking to the closet and picking out something to wear for the day then goes into the bathroom to change and get ready. Emily lays in the bed tossing and turning a bit starting to wake up a little. Ali comes back out of the bathroom a few minutes later and looks over at Emily feeling a little concerned about her.

"Em?" Ali says trying to see if shes awake yet or if she's still sleeping. Emily turns over and faces Ali mumbling. "Yeah Ali?" She yawns and sits up in the bed. "I hope I didn't wake you up. I thought something was wrong maybe because you were tossing and turning a lot." Ali says. "You didn't wake me up Ali I was already waking up that's why I was tossing and turning a lot." She explains and smiles then gets out of the bed. "What do you wanna do today?" She asks looking at Ali.

"Ummm maybe we could go and get some more stuff for the baby?" She suggests. "Sure, if that's what you wanna do." Emily smiles and walks to the bathroom going to get dressed.

After Emily got dressed Ali and her walked out to the car and got in then drove to the mall. "Which store first Ali?" Emily asks as they walk into the mall. "Let's just go to all the stores with baby stuff because I'm not sure which stores have the best stuff." She says and they walk into one of the stores.

They look around in the stores for a while and buy some more baby supplies like bottles, pacifiers, toys, and clothes then they go back home after shopping for 3 hours. "That was a very successful trip." Emily says as they pull in the driveway and park.

"It definitely was." Ali says and smiles getting out of the car carrying a couple of the bags inside the house and up to the nursery sitting them down on the floor. Emily comes in behind her and sits her bags down. "I think we have almost everything we need now. Other than the paint for the nursery." She says. "But that can wait a little while." Emily says and gets some things from the bags and starts to put stuff in the closet as well as in the baby's dresser.

"I'm not sure what shade of blue I wanna do really. I do like light blue but I also think Navy blue would look amazing." Ali says and looks at Emily. "I think we should do light blue and maybe do like an underwater theme in here." Emily says. "That's a great idea Em!" Ali exclaims happily.

"Glad you think so." Emily says and smiles hugging Ali. "How's the little guy doing today?" She says placing her hand on Ali's stomach. "He's doing pretty good. I haven't gotten sick at all today. Which is a huge improvement." She says and laughs a little. "Good to know." Emily says and laughs a little as well.

"I can't wait to meet him." Ali says and smiles. "Me either." Emily says and goes back to putting things away. "I'm hoping we will have everything ready long before he gets here so we won't have to rush and get things done right before he's here." She says. "Yeah I wouldn't want to wait till last minute to get everything done that would be too stressful on everyone." Ali says.

"Yeah for sure." Emily nods and puts the last bit of stuff away. "So, would you like me to cook you some lunch?" She says looking at Ali before walking downstairs.

A/N: I'm sorry if this chapter is boring hopefully in the next few chapters I can write in some interesting things. If you have any suggestions for what should happen send me a message or leave a comment. I'm really wanting this to be a fanfic with a lot of chapters but I'm already running out of ideas for what to write about in each chapter. Ali and Emily should be dating within the next couple chapters though I just want them to be crushing on each other for the time being but I promise this will be an Emison relationship fanfic very soon.
