Chapter 9: I Want To Ask You Something

As Long As I Have You:

Chapter 9:

~Last Time~

"I can't wait to meet him." Ali says and smiles. "Me either." Emily says and goes back to putting things away. "I'm hoping we will have everything ready long before he gets here so we won't have to rush and get things done right before he's here." She says. "Yeah I wouldn't want to wait till last minute to get everything done that would be too stressful on everyone." Ali says.

"Yeah for sure." Emily nods and puts the last bit of stuff away. "So, would you like me to cook you some lunch?" She says looking at Ali before walking downstairs.

~Now~

A few weeks after Emily moved in with Ali and she still feels nervous to do just about anything without asking even something as simple as getting a drink or a snack from the fridge she always asks Ali if its ok. Ali always responds with "Em you don't have to ask this is your house too." Then laughs but Emily asks almost every time she does something none the less.

Emily wakes up and looks over at the clock then back on the other side of the bed at Ali and smiles. "She's always so cute when she sleeps. She looks so peaceful." Emily thinks to herself and gets out of bed to get ready for Ali's doctors appointment that is in a couple of hours from now.

Ali lays in the bed having a dream about the baby and smiles big. After a few minutes her alarm on her phone goes off and wakes her up so she can get ready. She gets out of the bed and walks to the bathroom standing in the door as she looks at Emily who is currently brushing her hair in front of the mirror. "Good morning." She says to Emily and smiles.

"Good morning Ali. How did you sleep?" She asks as she continues to brush her hair. "Pretty great actually. I was having a dream about the baby before I woke up." She smiles.  "Really? That's so cute. I'm so excited that we get to see him today." Emily says and smiles. "Me too. I can't wait to see how much he has grown in the past little while." Ali replies.

Once they get ready they eat breakfast then drive to the doctors office then they get out and go inside and wait in the waiting room. A woman across from them is sitting in the kids play area holding a baby on her lap while one is sitting on the floor in front of her playing with some blocks. "Aw Em look at the babies." Ali says to her.  Emily looks up at them and nods smiling a bit. "Yeah they are pretty cute."

The doctor comes out of the back and calls Ali's name. "Come on Ali let's go see our little guy." Emily says and gets up holding her hand out to Ali and helping her up then going into the back with her.  They walk with a doctor into one of the rooms and Ali sits down on the bed looking over at the doctor. "I can't believe I'm already 6 months along already. It seems like its going by so fast now." Ali says and smiles. The doctor nods. "That's probably because your morning sickness stopped. Usually when that stops the days seem to go by a lot faster." The doctor says and comes over next to Ali starting up the ultrasound machine.

Ali lays back on the bed and raises her shirt up staring up at the screen of the ultrasound machine. "You are just here for your 6 month check up correct?" The doctor asks Ali as she puts the gel on Ali's stomach and moves the doppler around. "Yeah just here for the check up." Ali says and smiles as she sees her baby show up on the screen. "Wow! He sure has grown a lot since the last time we saw him." She says. 

"Yes they usually grow more quickly in the last few months." The doctor says and moves the doppler around making sure everything looks okay. "Looks like this little guy is 100 percent healthy." The doctor says and smiles. "Would you like some pictures to take home?" The doctor asks.  "Yes please." They both reply.

The doctor nods and walks out to go print off the pictures for them. "I can't believe he's grown so much so quickly." Emily says. "Me either." Ali says and laughs a little. "He's gonna be here in 3 months. It doesn't even feel real that he will be here so soon." She says and the doctor comes back in handing them each a copy of the picture then leaving the room again.

Ali sits up and wipes her stomach off then pulls her shirt back down and gets off the bed. "Let's go schedule our next appointment." Ali says and walks with Emily to the receptionists desk and sets up an appointment for the next month then walks with Emily back outside and to the car getting in.

"Wanna go and get some food from somewhere Ali?" Emily asks as she pulls out of the parking lot and drives down the highway. "Sure. I'm really craving some pizza. Can we get some?" She asks Emily. "You should know you don't have to ask that question Ali." Emily says and laughs. "You know how obsessed I am with pizza." She says as she drives to Ali and her favorite pizza place.

"What kind of pizza do you want?" Emily asks her as she pulls into the parking lot. "I'll go inside and order it for us." Emily says. "Can I get one with Mushrooms, Beef, And Pepperoni with light sauce and extra cheese?" She asks Emily.  "Of course. However you want it Ali." Emily smiles. "I'll be back in a few minutes." She gets out of the car and walks inside the pizza place.

A little bit later she walks back out to the car carrying two pizza boxes and gets back in the car. "Here you go." She says and hands the pizzas to Ali so that she can drive. They drive back home and eat their pizzas then hang out and talk for a while before deciding to go to bed early because they are both really tired.

...

The next morning they wake up and go downstairs around 12pm. Emily walks into the kitchen to cook them both some breakfast. "Ali?" Emily says while she is cooking some pancakes. "Yeah." Ali replies and walks over. "Can I talk to you about something?" Emily asks feeling a bit nervous.

"Of course you can Em." Ali replies and smiles sitting down on a stool at the island across from where Emily was cooking. "Well I'm kind of scared to ask you this. I've been wanting to for a while but everytime I try I always chicken out because I'm afraid of what the answer might be." Emily sighs a little. "Em, you can ask me anything. You don't have to be afraid." Ali says.

"Alright. Here it goes." Emily says. "I know you like me as more than a friend and I was wondering if maybe, you might wanna maybe be girlfriends? But I don't wanna rush you into anything if you aren't ready for that yet." She says and looks at Ali.

A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger but I had to do it cuz this chapter is really long already but you will get to see Ali's reaction in the next chapter I promise. I really hope that you liked this chapter I'm currently Binge Writing lol I've wrote two chapters tonight and I'm gonna try and at least start on the third chapter before I go to bed. If any of you have suggestions for something you would like to happen in the story leave me a comment or send me a message. I have an idea for something that I want to happen in this story in the future but other than that one idea I don't really have any more ideas for how to keep it interesting so I can keep writing it for a while.
