I groaned. And rather loudly.
"Jack, I can go all day. In fact, we have been going at this all day."
"If you're tired, we can stop."
"Not until you say you'll do it."
"Hiccup, I like you and everything, but you better stop right now before I punch you."
The two of us were currently up in my room. I sat, leaning against my headboard, while Hiccup paced back and forth. He was growing very frustrated with me, but I wasn't going to let him get to me.
"Then punch me, cause I'm not gonna drop it until you do it."
When Hiccup made his round of pacing right next to me, I flung my fist at his thigh. His leg immediately gave out on him and he yelped in pain.
"I was kidding! You weren't supposed to actually punch me, jerk! Geez, I'm trying to help you and this is what I get for it?"
"I warned you."
He gave me a pointed look and hopped onto the edge of the bed. "Jack, just think about it. It's gonna happen whether or not you like it."
"No it won't."
Hiccup groaned and gripped his hair. "You're so infuriating! Just do it! What's the worst that could happen?"
A lot of things could happen. I could ruin everything if I wasn't careful, and I just couldn't ruin this. This was too precious to me. "Hic, I'm not doing it. End of story."
Just then, we heard the pitter patter of two little girls coming up the stairs. Hiccup gave me an evil smirk. "Emma, come here!"
I smacked Hiccup's arm. "What're you doing?"
"Getting a professional's opinion."
"Since when did Emma and Lilo qualify as professionals?"
He ignored me, and Emma and Lilo poked their heads into my doorway with curious looks. "If you're trying to get us to play video games with you, it's not gonna happen. I'm tired of getting shot in the head."
I spoke up before Hiccup could say anything, "Oh, then you can go. That's what we were gonna ask you. Run along and play."
"Don't you dare move, Emma!" Hiccup protested as they were about to leave. "Jack needs your help."
Lilo looked hesitant. "Why does he need our help?"
"Because he's too stupid to decide things for himself. He needs our help to gain confidence."
"Ooh! What's going on?" Emma asked eagerly.
"Nothing!"
"I wasn't asking you, Jack."
Hiccup, the smug dork, chuckled and raised an eyebrow at me. He then turned back to my sister and Lilo. "He's too chicken to ask Rapunzel out on a date. I've been trying for hours and he won't man up and do it."
Emma and Lilo both widened their eyes at me and dropped their jaws in bewilderment. "You haven't asked her out yet?!"
I rolled my eyes at them. "No, and I'm not going to."
Emma grabbed the nearest pillow and whacked me in the face several times. "Why not?!"
"Because."
She kept smacking me again and again and again. "That's not a good enough reason!"
"Yeah, Emma! You tell him! Knock some sense into him!" Hiccup cheered and Lilo laughed.
North appeared in my door and yanked Emma off me. "What is going on here?"
