By some miracle, I was able to get better by the end of the week. Rapunzel came around often to baby me and check up on how I was doing. She even brought Hiccup and a very reluctant Merida to come over and play video games with me. She made sure to bring over her delicious hazelnut soup and tell me lots of stories about what was happening in school, now that it's back in session. Having her nurture me was nice and I greatly appreciated what she's done for me.
Now it was Friday and school had just gotten out. Rapunzel and I were heading over to the Dunbroch's house for another tutoring session. Yes, I was doing much better, but since I missed a couple days of school, I was slightly behind on my classes. Another reason for the tutoring--and probably the most important reason--was mainly just looking for any excuse to hang out with her.
When we got there, we went straight up to her room--making sure to leave the door open--and got out all of our schoolwork. Rapunzel made sure to always get my homework for me, so here we are, attempting to get me caught up.
"We need to balance these formulas and then name them, okay?" she told me.
"What about Nicki? I like the name Nicki. Or maybe Henry."
She laughed at that and shook her head. "You know that's not what I mean."
"Do you want to name one of them Jack Jr?"
I was shoved away and almost fell off the bed.
"I was just kidding, geez. I think we can both agree that you'd be the one naming them, not me."
"It kinda sounds like you're talking about kids instead of chemical formulas," she said. She blushed while saying this, which made me chuckle.
"Okay, but think about it. If we had kids in the future, what would you name them?" We were getting way off topic, but this was much more fun than trying to balance and name chemical equations.
She was actually considering it, which made me surprised. I thought she would've scolded me for trying to get out of work. "If we had a girl, I'd want to name her Sophie. But I don't really have a name for a boy."
"Jamie."
I spoke before I even realized it. Rapunzel didn't know the meaning behind this name, and part of me was kind of scared she wouldn't like it. I'm not even sure if I'm ready to talk to her about it yet, but it's very important to one day get to that point with her and explain it.
She smiled at the name. "I really like that. Jamie and Sophie."
I don't know what it was, but having her approve of the name made me happier than I expected. I leaned forward and placed a sweet kiss on her cheek, smiling as I did so.
"Jamie and Sophie it is," I whispered.
Thinking about it now, I realized that we had only been dating for about a week, yet we were sitting here talking about our future kids. I never thought I would fall for someone this fast or this hard, but I knew that I was gonna keep Rapunzel in my future, no matter what. My future revolves around making her happy and creating a life with her.
Eventually she had forced me to get back to our homework by promising to make me cookies if I worked hard enough for them. That was enough motivation for me. It involved a lot of math and a lot of focus, which I did not work well with and there were too many confusing names that I couldn't keep up with, but the thought of Rapunzel's cookies got me through it.
I got to the point where my head hurt and the only thing I could think to do was grab a pillow and bury my head in it. "Please just end my suffering already. Use the pillow if you have to, I don't care at this point."
