Chapter 12

“Were you ever going to tell us?” Carly yelled down the hallway.

I instantly knew she was directing her question toward me. I choose to ignore her which probably wasn’t the smartest idea I’d formulated lately.

“Answer me,” she was now by my side.

I shrugged, “It was a last minute thing.”

“You could have least told me after,” Carly exclaims.

“I got back late,” I lied. I was back by eight thirty.

“That’s not what I heard,” she shook her head.

            I shrugged.

“I hate you right now,” Carly crossed her arms.

“Look it’s wasn’t a big deal. We didn’t even kiss or anything,” I sighed.

            “You didn’t?” Carly looked confused.

I shook my head, “No we were fine but like always one of us has to ruin it, moment lost.”

Carly laughed, “You fought on your first date?”

I grimaced, “It was hardly a date.”

“He took you out to the fields. It was a date,” Carly explained.

            “How did you know that?”

“Who do you think told me?” Carly laughed as she looked down at her nails.

“I swear Daniel is worse than a girl,” I shook my head.

“I am not,” I turned around to see Daniel smirking down at me.

“What do you want, Daniel?” I asked as I rolled my eyes.

“To pick up where we were before your father interrupted us,” he takes a step toward me.

I gulp and put my hand up to stop him. We were in school with every single person starring at us.

“Are you kidding me, Casey?” Carly stomped her foot.

            “What?” I asked innocently.

“You told me you didn’t do anything last night,” Carly was pouting. I could tell she was having a little too much fun with this, though.

“We didn’t do anything,” I told her.

“Then what is he talking about?”

Daniel laughed and replied, “I went in for the kill but her father stormed out cock blocking me.”

This made Carly laugh. Her laugh rang throughout the hallway. If people weren’t looking before, they were looking now.

I narrowed my eyes at him, “You make it sound like we were about to do the dirty.” I turned back to a still laughing Carly, “Which we were not.”

This only made Carly laugh harder.

“I hate you both,” I turned and slammed my locker door and headed off to my first class.
