I finally lugged myself downstairs, solely for the purpose of food. I may be uncertain of everything else in my life, but food was not one of those things.
I placed my lifeless phone on the countertop, and proceeded to make myself a nice bowl of ramen. At the moment I couldn’t mentally handle preparing anything else. As I stood watching the plastic bowl go round and round, I suddenly heard the vibration of my phone. I only stared at it.
I had two options here.
One, check my phone, possibly see a message from Ethan, and reply to it like a sane person no matter what it may be.
Or two, check my phone, possibly see a message from Ethan, and die on the spot.
I slowly made my way to my phone, anxiousness growing inside me with every step.
Gently pressing the home button, I watched the screen light up under my face and display a text message from none other than, Ethan Dolan. I felt option two slowly start to take form.
Sliding my finger across the screen I hesitantly opened the message.
“Meet me at CiCi’s in 30…….please?”
I let out a small breath, but it wasn’t relief.
“Will do, thanks for the rare use of manners.” I reply.
So much for ramen.
