"what's so good about it down here?" savannah asked the boys.

eddie laughed. "i'd like to know the same thing."

stan shrugged. "it's quiet, nobody to bother us."

"it's like an escape, nobody would expect to look for a bunch of losers in the sewer." richie explained, leading the group to the 'spot', as the boys called it.

savannah nodded. she understood why the boys would want to get away. bill's parents were always crying over georgie, although savannah understood why. eddie's mom was extremely overprotective, richie's mom was constantly working and his dad was an alcoholic, and stan's parents were extremely religious.

other then the fact that savannah's mom worked a lot, she didn't have a lot of home problems.

"here we are." richie said, walking over to a area that was hidden behind a few trees. the boys must have brought a few things, because there was a few chairs and even a small table.

old blankets were on the grass. savannah wondered if the boys had ever spent the night down there.

"this is cute." savannah said, sitting in one of the five chairs.

eddie sat beside the girl. he stared at her as she laughed with the rest of the boys. he loved the way her nose crinkled up when she laughed. he loved the way her eyes sparkled in the sun. he loved how her hair draped over he shoulders.

bill smiled, noticing the admiration in eddie's eyes as he watched the girl.

savannah looked over to bill and realized he was staring at eddie.

savannah at eddie, who had quickly turned his head away from looking at the younger girl.

savannah smiled as her face turned a light shade of pink. was eddie staring at her?

savannah liked eddie. she liked everything about him. she liked his voice, and how shy he was. she liked the way his short hair swept over his head.

savannah thoughts were quickly interrupted by the sound of water splashing. someone else was by the sewers.

"does anyone else know about this place?" savannah asked, quickly standing up.

eddie shook his head.

"it's j-just us." bill carefully watched in the direction the sound had came from.

savannah noticed eddie face looked pale, so she made a bold move and grabbed his hand.

eddie flinched at the sudden movement, but quickly calmed down and smiled weakly at her.

savannah noticed the bright color on eddie's face, and for some reason it made her happy.

the splashing began to get louder, meaning it was getting closer.

"help." a voice called out. it was a boy, he sounded like he was out of breath.

savannah looked over to richie, who was shaking his head.

"why not." stan angrily asked. he thought they should help whoever was there.

"what if it's a murderer?" richie asked. "or worse, eddie's mom?"

bill and stan both rolled their eyes.

"shut the fuck up richie." eddie was bothered when people talked about his mother, especially richie.

savannah squeezed his hand tighter, assuring him everything was alright.

eddie smiled.

"please." the same voice called again.

"we have to." savannah let go of eddie's hand to approach the voice, causing him to frown.

richie called out for her to stop, but she ignored the boy.

stan quickly followed, but the other three boys stayed behind.

almost instantly, a boy with a sweaty body and a blood stained shirt came into view. his hair was messed up and his face was almost completely covered in bruises.

savannah gasped at his appearance. "are you okay?"

the boy shook his head and showed the two his wound.

"help?"
