eddie took a quick shower. the boy them caked his body with cologne.he wrapped a towel around his waist and walked over to his closet.
he picked out a lavender colored shirt and white shorts.
he also picked out his black and white nikes.
after the boy was dressed, he walked back into his bathroom to do his hair.
usually, he slicked his hair to the side. but today, he let his hair fall loose, showing his small curls.
once eddie was satisfied with his appearance, he grabbed his phone and walked down stairs.
"where are you going dressed so nicely eddie?" his mom asked.
"to stan's mommy." he lied for the second time today.
his mom didn't answer at first, but allowed her son to go.
eddie ran over to his mother, kissing her cheek before leaving.
eddie crossed the street to savannah's house.
he took a deep breath and sniffed his breath before knocking on the door.
savannah opened the door with a smile. "hey lover boy."
eddie blushed at the girl. "hi."
savannah closed the door behind her and pulled eddie into a small and quick hug.
eddie flinched at the girls touch, but eventually hugged her back.
eddie frowned once the girl pulled away.
"reddie?" he asked her.
savannah nodded. "you smell nice."
eddie's face turned bright red.
x
"chocolate please." savannah told the man at the front counter.
he nodded. "and for you, sir?"
"vanilla." eddie said. although it was quite boring, it had always been the asthmatic boy's favorite.
"5.75." the man told the kids.
savannah went to give the man money, but eddie insisted he payed. savannah swatted his hand away and handed the man her money.
he gave eddie his cone, then savannah hers.
eddie led the girl over to a booth and sat down across from her.
"i wanted to pay." eddie complained.
"too bad." savannah said, before licking her cone.
"the boys always pay." eddie defending himself, also licking his ice cream.
"well not today." savannah laughed. she thought it was cute how eddie got so upset over small things like who pays for the ice cream.
"why couldn't you go to the quarry?" eddie asked her. "i know you said you didn't wanna talk about it, but i just wanted to know."
"why were you looking in my window last night?" savannah raised an eyebrow.
eddie face turned bright red as he looked away from the girl. "i don't know."
but eddie did know. if he was being honest, he wanted to see her. but eddie didn't have the guts to tell her that. he couldn't handle being rejected.
"neither do i." savannah made a small humming noise before licking her ice cream.
eddie knew what she was doing. she was trying to make him tell her.
"you tell me, then i'll tell you." eddie reasoned.
savannah scoffed. "deal."
"well, long story short, i'm afraid of water," savannah rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. "your turn."
eddie sighed. he had to tell her now. "i wanted to see you."
savannah smiled a very wide smile. "why?"
she hoped he'd tell her that he had feelings for her, but of course he was eddie and he didn't.
"that wasn't part of deal." eddie said, finishing his ice cream.
savannah rolled her eyes. "oh come on."
eddie laughed. she looked so beautiful in the light that the ice cream parlor provided. but then again, eddie thought she looked beautiful in any light.
"we should get going." eddie said to savannah, noticing she finished her cone as well.
savannah nodded and frowned. she wanted to spend more time with eddie and she didn't want to leave.
the two walked out of the shop together, eddie behind savannah.
the two eventually ended up walking side by side, sharing many laughs.
"eddie," the girl said stopping in front of her house. "why did you want to see me?"
eddie blushed, staring at the ground.
he took a deep breath and said three words he thought he'd never said to savannah.
"i like you."
savannah smiled at the taller boy and kissed his cheek.
eddie's face was on fire.
she waved at the boy before walking inside her house.
