February 20th, 1993.

On a peaceful Saturday afternoon, Harry was cuddled up on Tom's lap while Tom did some paperwork for Merlin knows what. The small boy smiled contently as he breathed in the peppermint and chocolate scent of his lover, giving his neck light kisses. It was raining outside, which made Harry want to snuggle even more into Tom's jumper and arms. It was on days like these that Harry really didn't want to get up and do anything, which was really relaxing considering he barely relaxed nowadays.

Just sitting there on Tom's lap was a relaxation method. It provided him reassurance, in a way, that even if everything went to shit, Tom would still be there to love him. In the beginning, Harry had been worried about angering Tom and making him leave him, like his parents had. Now... he trusted Tom. It was a really nice feeling. Being here, he forgot about everything that was going on at Hogwarts, and that him and Tom were basically the Romeo and Juliet of their personal stories— although hopefully with happy endings.

"Tom?" Harry asked lightly, trying to get his soulmate's attention as he ran his hands over the other's broad shoulders. As Tom's hands dropped what they were doing to hold Harry in a tight grasp, Harry only received a noise of approval to show he was listening. "Can we stay here forever? Just me and you? I love you so, so much, Tom. I would love to live a quaint life with you— get married, maybe get jobs, have kids— and I don't want you to be in danger and stressing all of the time. I just want to stay with you."

Tom grabbed Harry's head in tender hands and gave Harry a tender kiss, sweetly running his thumbs over Harry's cheekbones. "I yearn for that as well, my love," he admitted, once they separated from the kiss. "But as much as I would love that life, it would be too dangerous for you and any potential children if I stop. We've already been targeted and labeled, darling, you the hero and I the villain. If I stopped right now, the Wizarding world would not change for the better, but perhaps for the worst. It is under our influence that most of the laws for the rights of creatures are created, My love. And if I surrender, everything will be stripped from us and I, including my loyal Death Eaters, could be killed. You could be killed as well, and I can't risk it." Tom sighed as though he was exhausted. "Let us relish in the time we have together, shall we? I love you."

"I love you too." Harry smiled, returning his head in the crook of Tom's neck. Tom didn't return to paperwork, and instead closed his eyes as he focused on the comforting weight on his lap and the head in his neck.

Harry sighed as he thought about their conversation. Of course Tom was right in everything he had said, but Harry couldn't help the optimism inside of him that the other side will relent and him and Tom will be able to live happily ever after. Hopefully that day came soon, because Harry really didn't want to go into war. His mind also wouldn't stop thinking about the Chamber of Secrets. How were the parents reacting to this? They must be worried sick, and looking for a cure, like any other parent.

'Hold on,' Harry thought. 'A cure. Is there a cure for a basilisk's petrification? There must be, there's a cure for almost everything. But does Hogwarts have access to it? Are we just wasting energy on something that can be easily fixed?'

"Tom?" Harry asked once more, this time with an air of audacity.

Tom stirred for a second before leaning back to look Harry in the eyes. "Yes, sweetheart? Is everything alright?"

"Is there a cure for a basilisk's petrification?"

Tom's eyes widened. "Oh fuck, there is. Oh fuck, Hogwarts has a shit ton of Mandrakes!"

Harry's eyes widened in fear. "The cure wouldn't be finished that quick, right?"

"No, thank Merlin," Tom shook his head. "But we need to fix this as soon as possible. We'll have to drop by the Hogwarts greenhouses tonight to ruin all of the ingredients. They'll have enough for one or two students, but I doubt they harvested enough for them all."

Harry grinned mischievously. "And that what create more tension, wouldn't it? I mean, who would they save? It would infuriate the parents to no end if their kid wasn't fixed."

Tom chuckled after catching on to what Harry had said. "Quite right. Would you mind writing a letter for your friends and send it via Hedwig? I'm afraid I would like to steal you for the day."

Later that night, after they had eaten dinner, Tom, Harry, and his broomstick smoke-Apparated to the grounds of Hogwarts, right next to the greenhouses. Fortunately it was dinner time for the school, so everyone was eating food while they got to work. Harry gave Tom a quick kiss before mounting the broom. (A/N: kinky)

"I'll go and distract them to make sure they don't leave the Great Hall. Like we talked about, I'll come back as soon as I see you cast a skull into the clouds, alright?"

When Tom nodded his approval, Harry quickly rushed off towards the Great Hall with his broomstick. Thankfully it had stopped raining an hour earlier, so it was only humid with many clouds in the sky. Harry quickly flew under the window so he would be seen, before casting bright fireworks out into the open skies.

A couple minutes later, as the fireworks kept blazing, Harry raised up the slightest bit to look into the corner of the window, and sure enough, everyone was in a frenzy, including the teachers. Smirking, Harry first locked the main doors before setting loose tiny, non-poisonous and passive spiders loose inside. Thousands of them.

Almost immediately screams rang out from inside Hogwarts, and Harry started giggling happily. Over all the laughter and screams, Harry heard a noise to his left, prompting him to summon his mask.

"Who are you?" An old man asked. When Harry looked, he noticed Dumbledore had somehow Apparated out of the school. "You were the one to do this, weren't you?"

Harry nodded before giggling again. "Of course I am! I'm the Prince!"

Dumbledore looked confused. "The Prince? Are you a Death Eater?"

Harry crinkled his nose. "Ew, no." He glanced up to see a skull in the sky, meaning that Tom had finished his task. Grinning evilly, Harry giggled again. "It seems like our time has been cut short! I'm sure you can figure out who I am on your own, can't you?"

With that, Harry left, leaving Dumbledore to contemplate about what the hell had just happened.
