April 18th, 1993.

Harry woke up to the sound of classical music playing softly in his ears. The light in the room was flickering slightly, and the only way Harry knew the light came from candles was the vanilla aroma filling the air. He hummed as he curled up against Tom, who must have been conscious, because he was playing with Harry's hair.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Tom greeted, moving his hand to lightly rub at Harry's temple. "Happy one year anniversary."

Harry's eyes shot open? 'It's already the eighteenth?' He questioned to, moving up to plant a kiss on Tom's upturned lips. "Happy anniversary, honey."

Even though Harry couldn't see it, he was sure Tom raised an eyebrow. "Honey?" He questioned. "That's new."

"Yeah, it is," Harry agreed, "but you have all these nicknames for me and I haven't one for you. I have a couple in mind."

"Like what?"

Harry raised an eyebrow. "You'll have to wait and see! Do you... like it?"

Tom leaned down and gave Harry a passionate kiss. "I didn't think I would," Tom admitted when they separated, "but I do. I thought I'd enjoy calling you pet names instead of being called pet names." He smiled. "You know me more than I know myself."

"That's not it!" Harry said, blushing at the statement. "It's just that you call me 'sweetheart' and 'angel' and 'darling' and 'love' all the time and it's so adorable and I've only been calling you by your name! It makes me feel really warm and cozy on the inside, so I was hoping you'd feel the same way."

"Of course it would, love," Tom smiled fondly. "Now, I have dinner reservations for tonight, but the rest of the day is unscheduled. We'll take a shower right before we go, so... what would you like to do?"

Harry immediately sat up. "I have a gift for you!" He said, standing up and rushing to the door. "One second!"

He stood slightly to the right of the door before summoning Dobby. "Can you get the ring for me?" Harry asked, and Dobby immediately nodded before Apparating again.

Originally, Harry had had no idea what to get for Tom. In fact, he had been so out of ideas that he was about to give up, until he noticed the ring on Harry's finger that contained a part of Tom's soul. 'What if I gave Tom a ring?' Harry questioned himself happily, immediately getting a parchment and writing a letter to Narcissa, sending Hedwig with the letter. Soon enough, Narcissa sent him a page of images of all the rings they had in Diagon Alley, and all Harry had to do was pick one out as Narcissa went and got it for him. It wasn't as sentimental as Tom's, obviously, but hopefully he appreciated the effort.

'I definitely owe something to Narcissa,' Harry thought as he waited for Dobby to return. 'How many times has that woman saved my life by now?'

At last, Dobby returned with the ring in the case and Harry thanked him before turning on his heels and walked into the room excitedly with the case behind his back. The first thing he noticed was that Tom looked noticeably guilty.

"I didn't get you a gift," Tom admitted sadly. "I'm so sorry, darling."

Harry didn't wipe the smile off his face. "That doesn't matter, love!" He reassured. "You can think of it as a late birthday gift."

Tom looked away guiltily. "If we're looking at it from that perspective, I should still be the one giving you the gift, Harry. You already gave me my birthday present when you forgave me the day after."

"Well then, you're the one who made reservations for tonight, right?"

Tom sighed before he shook his head fondly. "I suppose you're right." He smiled a warm smile. "Now, I'm sure whatever gift you've chosen is wonderful, sweetheart."

"I sure hope so," Harry said as he sauntered over to the bed and jumped on his soulmate's lap, revealing the ring box. "I know it's not original, since you already gave me a ring for my birthday, but I was hoping you would like it all the same."

The two kissed as Tom took the box from Harry's hands. When he opened it, Tom gasped.

"Do you like it?" Harry asked nervously, biting his lip as he watched Tom take out the ring and study it

"Do you like it?" Harry asked nervously, biting his lip as he watched Tom take out the ring and study it. "I knew snakes were your favourite animal, and green is the colour of Slytherin, so-"

"Your eyes are the same colour as the snake's," Tom cut him off, slipping the ring onto his finger before looking up and smiling a wide smile. "I love it so much, my love, thank you."

Harry sighed a breath of relief. "Thank Merlin. I thought you might not like it."

"There's no way I could possibly hate that," Tom smiled, placing the box to the side before lying down and pulling Harry down with him.

"I love you, my King."

"I love you too, my emerald."

At 23:30, after they had taken a shower, Tom and Harry side-Apparated to the restaurant they would be eating at. Harry took a gasp as he looked at his surroundings. It was beautiful.

They were sitting alone in a very romantic setting, some red wine already in some wine glasses for them. Rose petals decorated the ground and table, and soft music was playing in the background. "Where are we?" Harry asked astounded.

"Jamaica," Tom answered, taking a sip from his wine. "I rented a villa for us to stay in overnight. We can even stay all day tomorrow, if you'd like."

Harry smiled brightly. "Merlin, I love you."

Tom raised an eyebrow before winking. "I love you too."
