The Chamber was unnaturally silent as Brian processed the information. The confused look on his face made Harry want to jump for joy- he really hated that boy. "What do you mean?" Brian questioned. "Who's the Prince? No one's name is just 'Prince'!"
"When I was in school here I found this Chamber," Tom said, choosing to ignore the questions flung at him like a storm. "I terrorized the student body, petrified dozens and killed one. However I find it amusing that no precautions were taken to counter another attack, nor were there any true attempts to stop it when they started again."
Brian huffed. "Of course precautions were taken! We... Dumbledore... you said you were the one to cause the attacks?" He changed the subject. "Then how come Dumbledore and the Gamekeeper had to leave?"
Tom laughed coldly, distracting Brian enough that Harry could silently slip away- Brian had never been much of a multitasker. Slipping into the shadows, Harry ducked into one of the pipes were Susan was waiting with a packet of Peruvian Darkness Powder.
"Are you sure about thiss, masster'ss mate?" Susan questioned quietly as Harry picked up the packet.
"Possitive," Harry replied. "Bessidess, it'ss too late for sscepticissm. Promisse me you will sstay ssafe?"
Susan smiled and slithered over to flick her forked tongue over Harry's cheek. "Ass alwayss," she replied. "Ssussan iss a ssnake with authority!"
Harry chuckled as he patted her cheek. She slithered away after, leaving him alone in the sewage. He peeped out of the hole to see Tom fingering a wand- Brian's wand. 'Already?' Harry thought surprised. 'That means he's explaining who he 'really' is!'
Brian must have been terrified, because never once had Harry seen him shy away such as he was doing now. When Tom finished talking, Brian just sat back in silence. Once Harry heard Tom hiss for Susan, he closed his eyes and silently hoped nothing would happen to his friend. She wouldn't deserve that.
As Susan came out, Harry couldn't help but be satisfied with the look of terror on Brian's face. It was pleasing to see his bully and torturer scared of something for once. And the chase he put on was better- it reminded him of what Brian and his friends like to perform on himself, Harry Hunting. It wasn't fun at all, but they didn't care, so Harry wouldn't care now. Divine retribution.
Harry quickly hid in the shadows as Brian came running past him and into the pipes. He didn't stay there for long, however, and ran to the middle of the Chamber, which was a bad move. Susan quickly caught up to him and encircled him, leaving him powerless to leave. Tom walked up cockily and was about to state something when a surprising coo filled the air.
'What the hell?' Harry thought to himself as the coos got louder and louder, until a red Phoenix burst though the air, carrying a raggedy brown witching hat.
The Sorting Hat!
Harry stared confusedly as the Phoenix swirled down and dropped the hat next to an immobile Brian's feet. Almost immediately, the boy ducked down and picked the hat up, causing a sword to fall out. 'The sword of Gryffindor!' Harry shouted inside his head, looking at the sword in a mixture of awe and worry.
This was not going according to plan. What the fuck is a Phoenix doing here? How did Brian pull the sword of Gryffindor out of the Sorting Hat when only true Gryffindors ever could? He's a Ravenclaw for Merlin's sake, not a Gryffindor! Not a very good Ravenclaw, but Harry doubted there was such thing as a bad or good Ravenclaw, honestly.
He could only watch in terror as the red animal swooped in and attacked Susan. Did that animal have the fucking right? No! That snake was probably an elder compared to him! Harry was so angry at the Phoenix that he didn't notice Brian wield the sword and raise it towards the snake's head.
Until it was too late.
A sharp slice resonated through the Chamber like a knife cutting through a piece of meat. Harry could only watch in horror as one of his friend's heads hit the floor in a slimy mess, blood running everywhere and mixing with the water. Harry felt his heart pound. No.
That.
Little.
Mother.
Fucker.
Screaming in rage, Harry ran out of his hiding spot with his wand raised at Brian. How dare he? He killed one of his friends! An old snake that was too innocent! She wasn't the one who had deserved to die that way! Susan should have died in her sleep, a peaceful passing...
Harry's heart filled with murder as he chased Brian down the Chamber towards Ginny and the diary. Tom stayed standing still, looking at his dead old friend in shock as the Phoenix cooed and swooped after Harry.
Brian dodged all of the badly aimed spells, since Harry was too angry and murderous to think straight. Not that he ever could. Anywho, Brian quickly grabbed the diary out of Ginny's hold and laid it on the floor, stabbing it.
Almost immediately, footsteps caught up to Harry and curled around his wrist, struggling before succeeding to wrestle the Peruvian Darkness Powder out of Harry's hand and shot some down at Brian's eyes. Forcefully, the man who did this, Tom, Apparated Harry and himself away from the crime scene.
"No!" Harry screamed from the confines of their bedroom, struggling against Tom's hold. "No! I need to get him! Kill him! He killed Susan! That little bitch! He killed Susan, Tom! He... killed Susan, Tom..." Harry got more and more disheartened and weak as he started to lean more into Tom's strong grasp. "Please, let me..."
With that, his vision faded into the black.
