Afraid of Rejection

Matt wakes up a couple hours later...in the middle of the night. He doesn't know why he's awake but he is, he gets up and slowly walks around the castle again. He's walking around when he hears some footsteps behind him, he quickly turns around to find Shiro walking behind him. "S-shiro what are you doing" Matt asks as he scrathches behind his neck. "Oh well you were walking around and I was awake and thought I might join you, if you don't mind?" Shiro says a small tint of pink comes onto his cheeks. "Oh yeah of course" Matt starts walking back to Shiro. They walk with each other for a while they end up in the lounge. "Shiro?" Matt asks, getting nervous, "yeah", Shiro says looking over at Matt. "O-oh n-never mind". Matt couldn't get the courage to ask him if he remembered the Garrison. Shiro just shrugged and looked away, Shiro also thought he should ask...but he couldn't just like Matt couldn't. The next hour went by and they so were technically right on top of each other, then, finally, Matt gets the courage to ask, "S-shiro...d-do you remember w-what we said...before K-kerberous?" Shiro looks down at Matt with wide eyes, the memories flowing back into his head.

Flashback to the Kerberos take-off

When Matt and Shiro were ready to board the shuttle to leave for Kerberos Shiro had to say something. Matt, if anything happens to us...I just want you to know...that I have loved you for a long time." Shiro said..looking down so Matt couldn't see the blush creeping onto his face. "I-i have to Shiro, since we met." Matt says staring at Shiro like he has so many times before. Then, they were ready to leave not another word was exchanged.

Back to the present

Shiro nods his head in agreement, "Y-yeah...i-i do", Shiro says as he looks away. Matt sat in thought wondering if he asks do you still feel the same way if Shiro actually will still feel the same way, cause Matt sure does. "D-do you still feel the same way?" Matt says quickly but able to understand. Yet again Shiro nods, her faintly but you could still tell he was saying yes. "D-do you?" Shiro asks, whispering low, Matt says yes and both of their fears of rejection went away. They sat there for another hour in silence then they went back to their rooms and went to sleep.

Next morning

Everyone is in the dining hall, waiting for breakfast,Shiro and Matt weren't there, suspicious thoughts flow into every ones head especially Pidge's, she has known Matt liked Shiro for a long time and teased him about it. Pidge has thought that Matt confessed and they slept together but that wasn't the case. Matt walks in the room, yawning and rubbing his eyes, he goes to sit down next to Pidge. "Well good morning big brother, you seem tired." Pidge says as if she wasn't thinking anything at all. "G-good morning sis, and yeah...I am a little tired". He says yawning again. Probably 5 minutes later Shiro enters the room,he looks like he didn't fall asleep last night. "Shiro, are you ok?", Pidge asks quiet curious, "yeah...just couldn't sleep last night". Everyone is convinced and goes back to what they were doing. Matt leaves quickly after eating and walks around the castle again.

Hey sorry it took me almost a month to update. Kinda couldn't think of what to write. I'm already working on the next part.
And also I know the sescription says what will happen to the other before the other confesses. Ooooyou just wait your horses.
