It hurt Draco to watch his mate's growing frustration because he didn't know how to help the man. He knew that Thomas was trying so hard to be a good partner, but the twenty years of him being starved of affection takes a toll. Draco would never take it to heart when Thomas would unintentionally lean away from his touch or get angry when he feels like he didn't do something right. Because he knew that even though Thomas was happy to have a mate, he has never been put in a position that he has to show that he loves somebody.
It wouldn't be right for Draco to lash out on his submissive who was clearly putting himself out of his comfort zone. He just wished he knew how to help.

"I don't know father. I didn't think...I didn't think it would be so difficult to give myself to him," Draco knew he should have kept walking and respect their privacy, but weeks of Thomas keeping himself at a distance caused his curiosity to peak.

"It is understandable, Thomas. You have been through a lot in your life. Nobody expects you to just fall into this relationship so effortlessly. You cannot force yourself to step over you boundaries for him, and Draco doesn't expect you to. You are his submissive, and your well being is the most important thing to him."

Tom's words were true. Draco never expected Thomas to force himself to do anything he wasn't comfortable with. Even if it was something as simple as holding hands. He could never forgive himself if he made his mate feel uncomfortable in anyway.
It was his job to protect, not hurt.

"It's just hard. I want to be someone who can be there for him, but I don't truly understand what I'm feeling. It's not only with Draco but with you, Severus, Lucius and everybody else. All of these foreign feelings just end up with me angry or frustrated." Thomas ended with a sigh, and Draco thought it was best to leave before he got caught eavesdropping. At least he got a better understanding at what has been wrong with Thomas. Though, he still has no idea on how to help him. Or if it was even possible to.

Blonde hair flowed behind him as he paced back and forth in his room. Abraxas had made an effort to avoid the newly bonded couple ever since Draco's birthday. However, that didn't mean that he hasn't heard of the trouble at Paradise. He had to admit that he was pleased that Draco hasn't been able to really connect with Thomas. After all, the two of them were never as close as Thomas and he was. Then he had to go and let Cedric come and ruin everything. Though, it's not something he thought unfixable. At the end of the day it was he was the only person who was by his side, and he will get Thomas to remember that. When he heard the knocking at his door, he knew it was time to put his plan in action.

"Thank you for agreeing to have lunch with me, Thomas." The man gave a nod as Abraxas led him to the balcony where he had lunch set up for them. He could tell Thomas was uncomfortable being around him, but he would fix that and everything would be back to how it was.

The blonde let silence wash over then for a couple of minutes as he watched Thomas take a few bites from his food. He had to keep the smirk from appearing on his face. It wouldn't take long for the potion to take effect.

"It has been a long time since we have spoken, just the two of us." Thomas nodded his head in agreement,

"Indeed It has. Though it seems the years have only served to make you more disgusting in my eyes." Abraxas's eyes widened as he watched the man continue to eat his food. This wasn't right. Thomas shouldn't have been able to detect the potion in any way. It was untraceable.

"W-what do you..." He was cut off by Thomas slamming his hand on the table. Chills went down Abraxas's spine as he looked into those enraged green eyes. The black-haired man stood up from his chair and the air became suffocating as Thomas's magic lashed out.

"Don't try and lie to me, Abraxas. I don't know what you thought was going to happen when you put that poorly brewed love potion in my food,  but all that you managed to do was crush any sort of forgiveness I had for you.

I am more disgusted that you would attempt to hurt your own brother than you trying to force me into a relationship that YOU rejected. There was a time that I would have protected you with my life, but now, if you ever attempt to ruin what I have made for myself you will have the same fate as everyone else who crossed me." And with that Thomas turned and began walking out of the room, and Abraxas finally felt like he could breathe.

Very short compared to previous chapters, but I don't have alot of time to update like I used to. You know with becoming an adult and what not 😂. But I appreciate everyone who still continues to read this book. 💛
