[Wattpad deleted this chapter and now I guess I have to rewrite it
She goes to the institute, they let her go on a mission, blah blah blah I'll rewrite it eventually I promise]
rewrite:I felt myself becoming extremely nervous as I stood outside of the institute. I decided to suck it up and open the door. It felt much lighter than it used to.
"Who are you?" one of the two shadowhunters guarding the door asked me.
I sighed, not in the mood for all of this bullshit. "Just let me in. I need to speak with Isabelle Lightwood."
"We can't do that. We need some identification."
I shoved past the two and ran into the main area. I saw Izzy and immediately called her over. I noticed an expression of confusion, then pure anger wash over her face. Her whip slipped off of her wrist and quickly slid around my neck as she shoved me against the wall.
"Who the hell are you?" she spit.
"Izzy it's me, Arabella." I choked.
"Nice try. She died years ago. Reveal yourself." she insists.
"Give me your stele. I can show you my runes. It really is me, I promise."
She reluctantly hands me her stele, as Alec watches from a distance.
I run it over my arm revealing my glamour rune, and soon after, all of my other runes.
"I can feel it in my parabatai rune, it really is you." She starts to cry.
"I'll explain everything. Can we go somewhere a little more private?" I ask. I see every one around us staring at me.
"Of course." she responds, and motions for me to follow her.
She takes me into her room and sits on the bed, patting the spot next to her.
I sit down and begin to explain everything that happened after she thought I was dead.
"After my parents died, I began to hate shadowhunters. I felt as though they could've saved my parents, or not sent them on that mission. Of course now I know that isn't true, but I was 11 at the time. I had a warlock help me to disguise my runes, and make me untraceable. Since then, I've been living in the city as a mundane. I haven't used any of my shadowhunter abilities since then." I pause, "Isabelle, I am so sorry for what I did to you. I made an extremely selfish decision, and I understand if you never forgive me."
I takes a deep breath, then hugs me tight.
"Arabella, I am so happy to have you here with me right now. You have no idea how many nights I've spent crying and begging the angel for you back. Don't get me wrong, I'm still angry with you, but right now I'm just grateful that you're here in front of me."
As we're crying into each others shoulders, there's a knock at the door.
"Not now." Izzy yells.
"It's just me." I hear Alec's voice on the other side. He let's himself in.
"Arabella?" he questions.
"That's me," I say with an awkward smile.
He opens his arms to welcome me for a hug.
"I would love to hear the story of how the hell you're alive," he starts, "but right now we've got a mission, and I need Isabelle."
"Alright, I'm in. What's the situation?" I ask.
"I don't think it's a good idea for you to come, you're very out of practice." Isabelle inquires.
"I'm not that bad," I defend, "I've been taking boxing and karate classes for the past 6 years."
"We don't have time to argue, let's go." Alec states.
I smirk with satisfaction.
We meet up with Jace in the weapons room.
"Holy shit, is that Ravenheart?" He smiles.
"Yep, not dead. I'll tell you the story later. Any cool new weapons?"
"All the same, just bigger now. Kinda like you."
"Right," I say, lightly offended," Bring on the seraph blades."
What seems like only a minute later, we're in a huge warehouse.
"Alright," Alec begins, "we've got 5 demons. Let's split up and get this done."
I take the third floor, I'm not sure which floors everyone else went to, but we've got a lot of ground to cover. I spotted the demon almost immediately after going up the stairs, it was basically in the middle of the room. I snuck up behind it and stayed hidden for a moment before making my attack.
I got up onto a wooden crate and jumped down on top of the demon, stabbing my blade through it's heart in the process. It was an easy kill.
As I was leaving the room, I got a bad feeling. I looked back one more time and continued on my way.
I suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of my thigh, and knew I had another demon to deal with. I tried hard to fight it off, but with the injury in my leg it became extremely difficult. As I felt myself getting weaker, the demon suddenly detached from my leg and was dead.
"You're welcome." Jace states.
"I had it handled." I angrily respond.
"I guess you weren't ready for this mission after all."
"Not ready? I was taking care of it until you barged in."
He points to my leg, "then what's that?"
