I walk along the street hoping to find a gas station, and after about 25 minutes of walking, I find one called "DX," it's labeled as a gas station and a car repair shop.

I walk into the shop and I'm met with a really beautiful girl behind the counter. Her name tag reads Liz, she offers me a warm smile.

"Hey, how can I help you?" she asks, "Uh, my car broke down about 25 minutes from here, and I need someone to look at it," I say, she smiles again "Sure thing, I've got someone here right now that can help you" she says.

"Steve!" she yells, my face falls, please for the love of god, don't let it be Steve Randle, don't let it be Steve Randle!

"Yeah, Liz?" I hear him say, I can already tell that it's Steve, there's no denying his awful voice doesn't belong to him.

"This girl needs some help with her car, how far away did you say it was?" she asks me, "25 minutes" I mumble, I turn around and glance at him. His face falls when he sees who I am, "Alright, I'll be back within an hour, Liz" he says.

He grabs his toolbag and ushers to his car. We both sit in silence for a couple of seconds before he awkwardly clears his throat and glances at me from the corner of his eye.

"Where am I going?" he asks.

"You, um, take a right out of here and it's 25 minutes down the road going straight," I say, "Do you know if it's on a different street than what we're on right now?" he asks.

I shake my head no, "I don't live in this part of town so I don't know the names of the streets" I mutter.

"Gotcha," he says, he starts up the car and drives to where I told him to.

I stare out the window and try and not to cry again, I don't know why him laughing hurt so bad, but it did.

"I'm uh, sorry... for laughing earlier, that wasn't cool for me to do so I'm sorry," he says, I glance briefly at him to see he's stopped the car and he's staring right at me.

I open my mouth to say something but my eyes start to shine with tears. I look away from him and towards the window, "It's fine really, it didn't bother me all too much" I lie.

"Sophia..." he trails off, I offer him a sympathetic smile "I'm fine" is all I say before I turn back to the window.

"Okay," he mumbles before continuing driving.

"You know, Kris talks about you a lot," he says, I smile sadly and nod slightly.

I would love for Kristen to be able to come over to my house and have sleepovers but the sad thing about our situation is, my father would be incredibly disappointed in me.

He hates greasers, he became a lawyer just to make sure that "justice is served to the greasers that deserve to be behind bars" in his own words.

I've always told myself that greasers are disgusting and awful, but Steve has shown some compassion, so maybe they aren't all bad.

"Kristen's great" is all I say, he nods.

"She wishes you would come visit, she thinks that we could actually be friends" he laughs, but the laugh sounds forced.

I let out a slight chuckle, "Yeah, that'd be the day" I glance over at him to see him frowning slightly.

He stops the car and looks at me again, he looks as if he wants to say something but doesn't.

I think I know what he wants to say because part of me wants to say it back.

But I don't.

"We're here," he says, we both get out of the car and walk over to mine.

He lets out a long whistle "Wow, nice car" he nods approvingly, I blush suddenly feeling embarrassed.

I drove here in his beat up old car, and now I'm making him fix up my brand new luxury car.

"It drives me places," I say nonchalantly.

He offers me a grin "I'm sure it does more than that, what's the mileage on it?" He asks.

I know absolutely nothing about cars so I stare at him stupidly.

"Uh, I really don't know," I say honestly, he laughs again and shakes his head.

"Do you even know what type of car it is?

My lip twitches as a smile spread across my face, "No, I don't" I say.

He pulls, his tool chest out of the back of his car and brings it over to the car, he lifts the hood of the car.

"Whew boy," he says, I walk over to him and glance inside my car, I don't see anything extremely wrong with it?

"You haven't changed the oil in what looks like years," he says.

I stare at him dumbfounded, "You're supposed to change oil?" I ask, he starts laughing as if I told him the funniest joke.

"Yes!" He exclaims, "your daddy didn't tell you this?" He teases.

"No, my father did not, thank you very much," I say.

He shakes his head with a grin plastered on his face, I sit in the driver's seat with my legs dangling out of the car while talking to Steve.

He tells me about work, his school, everything basically.

And odd enough... I tell him a lot about myself too, I leave out the part where my father hates greasers, but I tell him how bad I would look if I hung out with greasers.

Surprisingly he seemed to understand somewhat, and he actually invited me to come over to the DQ they always hang at whenever they go.

I told him I'll see but I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face from it.

"Alright, that'll do it," he says, he shuts my hood then walks over to where I'm sitting, "next time remember to change your oil," he says.

I laugh as I reach into my purse and start to pull out money, "How much do I owe you?" I ask.

He shakes his head no with a small smile, "Nothing it's on me" my jaw drops and I stare at him in surprise.

"No, no, no. I dragged you all the way out here, seriously how much?" I ask, he leans against my door with a slight smirk.

"Go out with me tonight and we'll call it even," he says, my heart starts to rapidly beat and I fidget uncomfortably, what would my father say if I went out with him?

"Steve Randle, did you just ask me out on a... date?" I question, he smiles wider and looks down at his shoes.

"I believe I did Miss Sophia," he says, I visibly gulp and I twiddle my thumbs idly.

"B-But... I thought you hated me?" I ask quietly, he looks up suddenly and then squats down in front of me so he's eye level with me.

"The only reason you would think that would be because of you, back in elementary school we all used to be friends, but then you turned all bratty and rich and became a major soc," he says.

I take a deep breath in as realization hits me, I have turned into a major Soc, I miss the greasers a little bit, but I have my future to think of, they're just a bunch of delinquents.

"There's a Greaser party, and I want you to come because I know you'll have fun," he says, "please" he adds.

I gnaw on my lip as I try to think of the best way to tell him no, but in all honesty, I want to go, I want to let go and have fun.

I eventually nod, "Alright, I'll come," I say. A grin breaks out on his face, "Cool, drive to this address at 8 tonight, and then we'll all drive together" he says.

I take the address paper from his hand and give him a nod.

"Please show up," he says to me, I smile slightly and turn on my car, "I will I promise," I say.

He smiles and nods "Okay, see you then Sophia" he taps my car as I drive off towards my house.
