Picking out an outfit I twirled in front of my mirror, making sure that it looked good from every single angle. I wasn’t entirely sure if I wanted to go with a dress, which ended right above my knees, or something more casual. I had no clue that a simple job as picking out an outfit could take such a long time.
I needed to look sexy, yet appropriate. Well managed, yet effortless. Fun, yet comfortable. I let out a frustrated sigh while looking at a pile of clothes that were tossed onto my floor after I had tried them on, but didn’t quite think that it was what I wanted to wear. I dug through it again, in hopes of finding something worth trying on once more. It took me about 15 minutes before I finally decided that I will be wearing a black sequent top with my dark wash skinny jeans.
I put on an appropriate amount of makeup and took one last glance at the clock, which read 9:48, as I exited the house.
*Louis’ PoV*
“Jesus, are you gonna be ready soon or what?” my annoyed voice sounded through the overly perfumed room.
“Don’t be such an ass, Louis” Molly chuckled while putting an earring in her left ear.
She has been sitting in front of that damn mirror for almost an hour now, fixing herself up for the party. She had her own theory, if the host doesn’t look her best, than the party will suck. Of course I figured that it was yet another excuse for her to get overly dressed up every week. That, surprisingly, worked for her.
“How do I look?” she finally turned around to her bed, where I was lying, to show me her complete look.
She had on a black lace dress that clung to her toned body perfectly, barely reaching the tops of her thighs. Her legs were wrapped in fish net tights that complemented the whole look. She had on high heels that were at least 4 inches and her bright pink hair was fixed in a wild bun with curls escaping all over. Her makeup looked dramatic and she had more eyeliner on than ever.
“You look fine, Molls” I complimented, giving her a genuine smile and putting my thumb in the air.
Molly and I were best friends since we were four years old. She knew me better than anyone else, making it hard for me to ever hide anything from her as she could read me like an open book. I didn’t complain though, she was the only constant thing in my life, so I could always rely on her to comfort me if I ever felt down. We weren’t so different from each other either, we had the same sort of style and shared the same interests. So we always had something we could do together. She was practically like my sister, whom I loved very dearly. She is the only one who knows my sensitive side, that is buried deep under the hard shell I’ve build for myself in form of tattoos and piercings.
“Say, who was that girl you were chatting to on the benches earlier?” I said casually trying not to cause any commotion from Molly’s side.
“I was just wondering, cause I’ve never seen her around before. Is she new?” I quickly added, sensing her suspicion.
She turned around to study my expression, squinting her eyes and hands on her hips.
“Forget I asked” I shrugged off, standing up from her, ever so comfortable, bed. But what I didn’t know was that she wasn’t gonna let me go so quickly. She leaned to the side, pressing her arm to the wall to block the exit.
“You better stay away from her” she said in a commanding voice. “Don’t want you hurting yet another gullible girl” she raised her eyebrow, and pressed her tongue against the inside of her cheek, making her words stand out even more.
The bell ring interrupted her intense stare and she excitedly squeaked, forgetting all about her warning.
“Here we go!” she clapped her hands and rushed downstairs to open the door for her first guest.
------------
After about five minutes the house was fully packed with people. Girls in their slutty dresses were, as usual, getting drunk and guys were, as usual, acting like total idiots, drinking and dancing to the wall-shaking beat.
As I scanned the room looking for my next ‘pray’, something in the corner of my eye caught my attention. There she was, the girl from my chemistry class that stood out from the others at the party with her covered up look.
I tried to hide a mock smile, that crept itself onto my face, and sipped the familiar liquid from my red cup. She stood beside the stand that was filled with beverages of all sorts, all of them including alcohol of course. I admired her from the distance as she poured herself a mix of vodka and some sort of juice and then after taking a sip crinkled her nose in disgust. She is something, that girl I thought to myself, staring her down.
