The party was just what I needed to get away from all the worries that were haunting me for the past few days. I took another sip from the red cup that was filled with a mix of vodka and some cheap juice. It was gross, but it seemed to be doing the job of taking my mind off the punk boy that was making me go mad. I do remember that Molly warned me about him, and I did after all promise her that I won’t get involved, but there were still some questions that were buzzing in my head. Why would he possibly want to hurt me? And how?

---------------

I felt the beat of the music deep in my bones, making me wanna dance some more. I joined the crowd as they were moving to the beat too and finally let loose, blocking away everything else but the moment I was currently living in.

Only five minutes later and I was already out of breath. I had forgotten how tiring out parties could be. I stepped to the side for a moment, pouring myself another cup of the clear liquid. I looked around casually, not meaning to lay my eyes on anything in particular. But just as I was about to go back into the crowded living room they stopped at the sight that sent shivers up my spine.

There he was, looking me right in the eye from across the room. With one hand holding the red cup and the other hand lazily stuffed in his pocket... how could I not know that the boy I was supposed to be avoiding was going to be at this party, standing here at this exact moment, looking right at me?

His devilish smirk glued my feet to the ground, making it impossible for me to move from the spot I was standing on. I couldn’t help but think that he was up to something, and that something wasn’t good.

I couldn’t risk him coming over to me, so I needed to get out of here as soon as possible. I broke away from his gaze and rushed outside through the glass door, that lead me straight into the backyard. Taking in a big breath into my lungs I sat down beside the pool that took up the majority of the whole backyard. I rolled up my jeans and put my feet in the water, setting the red cup beside me. It was pretty quiet outside, with only sound coming from inside the house and the grasshoppers that were hiding away in the freshly mowed grass. There were only a few people out here, but I guess they were too busy making out, as they didn’t even flinch when I slid open the door on my way out from the house.
