Prologue
The forest was dark, for only the light of the moon glistened through the trees. The trees became a blur as I frantically ran by them. "Quick, she ran this way!" I knew they would catch up to me, but I had to keep running. I rounded a corner and saw a small cottage surrounded in flowers. I quickly hurried to the door, and I knew I couldnt take long here. I put down a small woven basket, tears threatened to escape but I kept them in. I looked at my child, small but yet so beautiful and untainted by the harsh world, I wish this wasnt how it ended. I kissed her forehead and set down the letter , that I wrote the day before, next to her. It read:
Please take care of my child, you may not know me but I know you. You are good people, raise her well. Her name is Laila, please tell her I love her. I have attached a second letter for her to open on her 16th birthday. She has a destiny to fulfill. Thank you.
I took one last glance at laila, then ran west of the cottage so they wouldnt know I stopped by there. I didnt know how long I ran for but then I saw a light, they were torches. I was surrounded. Bows and arrows were pointed at me. I couldnt die, I had to come back for Laila, I knew that I had to. "Dont move monster! " Cried out a knight. I shuddered and closed my eyes, I will be back Laila, I promise. I stood tall, I heared the gasps of the king's knights and soldiers. They had never seen such a transformation, and I knew that. It gave me the opportunity to escape. I spread my wings and took off. I will be back. I was known as the great, and mighty.....
