Leila's pov
My words were caught in my throat, I saw her eyes shining in the moon light; She looks just like her picture. She gave me a weak smile and a small whimper " Leila, baby, is that you?"
I gasped and tried blinking away my tears but the were flowing down my face endlessly. I always tried to imagine this moment but I never could, even though we are both chained and in a dungeon, I was so happy at this moment. I gave her a nod and she started sobbing. Other than the silent sobbing of my mom, and the drops of water falling on the cold floor, It was quiet and I forgot about everything.
After a few minutes I heard chains ratteling,
"How did they find you? I left you at that cabin to keep you safe." She said, I looked down and told her everything.
From the day I found out I was a dragon, to the fire, mass murder, the death of grams and Grandpa, and the whole Journey. I saw her listening intently, and she laughed histerically when I told her about how I dropped Kyron from the sky to scare him. But everytime I shifted positions,I felt the nails in the chains piercing my skin. I groaned and looked over my shoulder, my blood was dripping down my wrists and nails impailed my skin. I looked at my mom and saw she had the same things on her wrist but she was in a worse condition, and then I saw her wings. She was in human form but her wings were still out be they were clipped and torn open.

Leila stopped talking for a moment and looked at me. My body felt sore, and I was slowly getting tired. I moved my foot and blood smeared on the floor.
" Hey honey, Im going to .. take a .... nap okay?" I just needed a little rest, I told myself. I leaned my head on the wall to my left and started closing my eyes.
"No mom! you have to stay awake!" Leila yelled, I heared Chains rattling and constant thrashing. My eyes were halfway open and I could only see her movement.

I knew my mom had lost alot of blood and I couldnt lose her this way, I thrashed around in my chains and the nails continued to dig into me. I slowly started shifting and the nails dug deeper into my skin but I had to ignore the pain but I couldn't bear. I huffed and gasped, but I knew I was runing out of time for my mom. I felt anger, so much anger and hatred all at once, then I felt myself get hot.
Zara's pov
I tried keeping my eyes open, Leila had tried transforming but only her tail and wings came out and her claws were slowly forming. She looked tired and pained, She bit her lip causing blood to drip and I could tell she was in conflict. Then I saw her hands clenching and the chains on her wrist turned red from heat. She struggled and chains grew more red before bursting into flames and releasing her.
Leila's pov
I gasped in relief when I felt the chains fall off. I looked up and I screamed from the agonzing pain. I sighed and walked over to my mom and ripped the chain off with my claw. She weakly moved her wrists in front of her, and gave them a sad look before looking up at me with a smile.
I stared at her while she slowly got up and put a hand to my face. Tears welled up in her eyes as she enveloped me in her arms. I felt her heart profusely pounding and I wrapped my arms around her. I had always tried imagining hugging my mom and even in a damp, dark dungeon it was better than I expected.
Tears stung my eyes, "I love you mom", I whispered. Her chest hiccuped as she Burst into tears. She held me even tighter and for a moment I completely forgot about all the bad things that have been going on. All that mattered was that I had my mom.

Before we devised a plan to escape the dungeon, I wripped some clothe off of my shirt and wrapped both of my mothers wrists to slow down the bleeding. When finished, I started taking in every aspect of the dungeon.
"What exactly are you looking for?" My mother asked as she glanced left and right.
I opened my mouth to answer but then I heard shuffling from outside the door. I looked at the door, then at the chains on the floor.
"Mom, sit back by your chains and hold your hand behind your back so they can't seem them" I instructed as I headed to my chains and did the same.
She nodded and did as I said. The guards keys jingled as he slowly unlocked the door. When I saw who it was, I felt my gut clench. It was a bulky troll. His eyes red from who knows what, and a stench that smelled of death. I took a deep breathe to calm my nerves.
The troll, mindless as it is, had left the door opened behind it, just as I had hoped. It wobbled it's way over to us, dropped a bowl of food close by, then turned to leave. Gripping my chains, I sprung from the ground onto the trolls back. I quickly wrapped the chain around its neck. thrashing and hitting the walls with its back, I pulled the chain tighter. After what seemed like forever, the troll began slowing down before falling unconscious and falling to the floor with a thud. I heaved a breathe before relaxing, and releasing my grip.
My mother stood up and walked over to me, "that was nice" she said with a laugh.
I grinned brightly, then walked to the opened door and checked the halls. Empty. I gestured with my head to follow me, and I tip toed out into the halls and took a right around a corner cautiously. The cold, stone floor was damp under our bare feet. I squinted when I saw the dim glow of a lantern. Halting suddenly, I turned and grabbed my mom and pulled her behind a statue.
Two guards walked by us without noticing us in our horrible hiding spot.
"So did the king leave for the invasion yet?" The short, pudgy guard asked.
"He leaves at sunset", replied the tall lanky one.
" hmm, those villagers won't know what him them" laughed the pudgy guard.
" I heard that the tree folk are located directly beneath them so we can take out two birds with one stone " said the tall guard with a fist pump.
I glanced at my mother and she nodded to me. We ran the opposite way of the guards and looked for a way to escape. We had to get to the village and warn everyone. I noticed a window at the end of the hall and picked up my pace. The sun was high in the sky and the breeze felt nice. Exchanging glances, my mother and I shifted and took flight.
