The rumors, people talked of the beast that lay in wait beyond the city line. No one acually believed it to be true but belief is not everything. Now I stand outside the spot for which it should be. Fathers car is here. It seems to have been crashed but the weird thing about it is the front half of the car is missing. Clean gone. I step up to it and place my hand on the cool metal. I touch it gently, I don't want to break it. I step forward trailing my fingertips along the metal, however when my fingertips reach the break where the car disipears enstead of falling as I had expected I still feel the cool metal where It should not be. I step acoross the line of the break and look up. Suddenly a huge mansion appears in front of me.

It has a pool with only a few drops of rain at the bottom. Stairs lead up a huge hill. Windows are abundant but are covered by black curtains from the inside. The most amazing thing however is the sky. Inside the invisible barrier of sorts the sky is dark and bleak. Rain clouds hover in the sky. Outside as I turn I see the sky is still blue and cloudless. A man walks by and I step backward over the barrier. The man starts. "Where did you come from?" Now that I've seen the mansion it seems I will be able to see it from the outside as well. "Do you see that?" I Ask pointing at the mansion. "See what?" He asks annoyed. I shake my head. "Nevermind."

Cautiously I tread back into the barrier and up the stairs. Wind whistles softly in my ear. I stop and look back to make sure no ones watching before I pull the doors open wide. The doors creak from misuse but I push in anyway. The entrance is grand, not a speck of dust but it still feels abandoned. "Father?" I Call. There is no answer. Two sets of stairs push upward and I walk between them to get to another room. I trail my fingers gently along the walls. Not a crack or a speck of dirt anywhere. The next room leads to het another staircase but this one acends higher than the other two. I grasp the railing and climb. My footsteps echo through the room.

At last the stairs stop. I'm in a dimly lit room. I can't make out much. Just the vague outline of a bed and a dresser, maybe a table as well. It seems to be a bedroom of some sort. My finger get caught in a cobweb as they trail the wall. I step on something and hear the sound of glass shattering. I looks down cautiously but before i can make out what I've stepoed on a low growl Emirates from somewhere farther into the room. I step back. A shadow comes into view, something huge. Almost twice the size of me. I make out two long horns twirling almost like a unicorn horn. But more dangerous.

I step back again startled, pressing myself against the wall. The thing looms closer. The growling gets louder and I close my eyes as if that will make it go away. I hear the thing shuffle closer to me and the growl gets closer to my ears.  I whimper. I feel warm breath on my face but I don't dare open my eyes. If I do, I'm afraid of what I'll see. Something tickles my neck like a feather. The low growling is right in front of me now in my ears. Something sharp trails down from my right temple, behind me ear and stops at my cheek. Something warm drips down my neck. I suck in a breathe the air putrid in my lungs. Something pulls my eyelids up and I open my eyes to the beast.
