I ran home from school.
That's 200 calories lost.
Not enough.I got changed out of my school uniform, and grabbed an energy bar.
0 calories, it claimed.
I ate it in my room as I begun to work through the homework from today.
---------------------------------------
A few hours later, I heard the front door open.
"Molly! I'm home!" Dad called from downstairs.
He smiled at me as I made my way down the staircase.
"How was school?"
"Fine." I said, wrapping my arms around him and planting my face in his chest.
He didn't return the hug, and I pulled away as I heard him say, "Molly, we need to talk. About your mother."
My phone pinged, and I looked down at it as he continued.
Jack: Lunch was great today. Do you wanna meet up for dinner? ❤️
"I know it's a difficult subject to talk about, and I know you'd rather not talk -I feel the same way - but it's better for both of us if we don't keep our feelings bottled up inside-"
"-actually dad, I'm supposed to be meeting Jack for dinner," I said, moving towards the door.
"Oh. Wait.. Jack who moved away? He's back?"
"Yes, dad." I called, closing the front door between us.
Molly: Ok. Where are we going?
