First Day Of School

Jealousy Pangs

I wake up and look around my room to see the girls sprawled all over the floor like towels. I forgot that they slept over. I immediately realize that today is school and I jump out of bed like wonder woman to wake my friends up.

"Guys! Guys, wake up!" I say while gently nudging them with my feet.

"No Mom, ten more minutes" Raven says quietly and I giggle.

"Guys!" I yell, and they jump up simultaneously. Cass even brought her fists to face. Wow!

"What is it?" Rebecca moans as if she is suffering from a hangover.

"We," I say while pointing at us, "need to get to school!" I whisper so that I dont wake poor Duirbyee sleeping in the corner. I swear that dog is my life!

"What?!" Riley yells and hops up, grabs her belongings and swings the door open.

"No, no, no. Its still like 4:00 am in the morning. We can't go out in the streets now" I tell them and they nod their heads in agreement.

"Why dont you guys stay here, have breakfast, shower, and walk home to change" I suggest.

"Then we come back to walk to school together!" Becca adds on.

"Alright! So," I pause for dramatic effect.

"Bacon or eggs?"

POV CHANGE
Cassidy's POV

"Ja Ouma! Ek sal dit nooit vergeet! Glo my!" I hear Abby say into her phone in a language I dont recognize.

"Nee, daar is niemand spesiaal in my lewe nie! Ek's net dertien jaar oud Ouma! Ja, Ja, ok! Ons is ook lief vir jou, Ouma! Lekker aand! Agh, nag, ek beteken. Bye!" Abby finally stops blabbing in whatever language that was.

"Abby, I didn't know you were German!" Riley says, looking taken aback.

"Im not" Abbygail replies, looking confused.

"Really? But you were just speaking German, weren't you?" Riley asks.

"No. I was speaking Afrikaans" Abby corrects Riley.

"What?" We all say in unison.

"You know, Afrikaans!" She simply answers.

"No, we dont know, so tell us" Raven defends.

"Its one of the languages spoken in South Africa" Abby informs us, taking me by surprise.

"Wait! Back up! You're from South Africa?" I ask, surprised.

"Well, sort of. I was born there and moved to LA when I was 6, that's when my parents got married" she says and all of us are completely flabbergasted.

"My mom's maiden name is Van De Burgh" she continues.

"Wow! That's so cool! I wish I had African roots!" Rebecca huffs and I chuckle at her jealousy.

"Anyways, lets bounce!" Abby says.

"You say that a lot, dont you?" I ask her and just shrugs.

"I guess" and we leave for school.

Abbygail's POV

Me and my girls walk into school, huddled together so that we dont attract much attention to ourselves. I go to my locker and grab my books for first period while Cass looks at herself in my mini locker mirror.
Raven, Riley and Rebecca already left for their first period.
