First Day Of School

Beauty in pain

I woke up this morning tired as usual. I shuffled out of bed and brushed my teeth. I decided to wear ripped denim jeans and a long sleeved sweater that says HEAVENLY. I love that sweater:)

I was putting my hair into a messy bun when I hear a knock on my door. I open it see my little six year old brother giving me a toothy grin and I smile softly. He may be annoying but I love him to bits. I mean he is extremely adorable.

"Yes Aiden?" I ask and he puts his hand on his chin as if he's in deep thought

"Mom says come down for breakfast or else you'll be late!" He says matter-of-factly and I shake my head and follow him downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen and see my mom by the stove probably making eggs and bacon. My dad is seated at the island reading the morning paper.

"Morning beloved family" I say as my dad kisses my fore head and my mom puts some pancakes on my plate.

"Ooo, yum! Pancakes! Is there any mable syrup?" I ask looking around

"You know Abby, if you keep eating at this rate, you won't fit into half of your clothes" my mom says with an amused smile gracing her lips

"Why not all?" I ask as I chow down the delicious pancakes

"Because you suddenly have an obsession with baggy clothes as of late" my dad says sipping his coffee

"Big is beautiful" I defend as I wiggle my arms around making Aiden laugh.

"Ok kids, we've got to leave or else you'll be late" my dad says whilst fixing his tie and I groan. Darn school separating me from pancakes.

I walk towards the door but turn around as I am about to leave. I see my parents in the kitchen. My dad is saying something to my mom as she washes some dishes. My dad makes a remark which makes her turn around and give him an amused smile. My father laughs out and walks over to my mom, kissing her forehead. I step out of the house and sit in the back.

They looked so happy. How could they possibly be getting a divorce? They seem very much in love. Maybe this is the act they try to put on for us. But they were alone in the kitchen.

I shake my head and take my phone out of my pocket. I see more Instagram DMs from Owen. I roll my eyes and decide to read them

I shake my head and switch my phone off as my dad starts the car. We drive off to school and I just stare out the window.

I get to school and see Cassidy walking towards the doors. I yell her name and she turns around and smiles. I jog towards her and she gives me a bone crushing hug. We walk into the school together talking and I see Raven standing at my locker with a note in hand. Her lips are slightly parted and her eyebrows are furrowed.
