First Day Of School

Its Party Time (part 2)

What on earth im I gonna wear? I internally yell at myself. I am currently standing in front of my closet, contemplating whether I should go or not. I am brought back to reality when I hear the doorbell ring.

"I'll get it!" I scream, running down the stairs quickly.

I open the door and to my surprise, it isn't just Cass.

"Hey girl! Can we calm in?" Rebecca asks with Raven, Cassidy, Riley and Owen standing behind her.

"Yeah sure! Come in!" I reply and open the door wider for them to get in.

"Well, Abby, I had no idea we had company!" My mom says coming into view with oven mittens on.

"Oh, Mom, I didn't think it would be a problem!" I quickly defend myself.

"Of course not honey! Im just surprised you brought home five friends, on the first day!" She says, impressed by my "skills"

"Ummm, Mom, is it alright if I go to party this evening?" I ask.

"Sure. Be home before 23:00 though!" She warns.

"No worries Mrs…"
"Ms Linkoln." My mom says quickly.

"Yes of course! Ms Linkoln! The party is just next door, so I am certain that arriving home wont be a problem for Abby" Owen said, pleased with his clever choice of words.

"Have fun!" My mom says before disappearing into the kitchen once again.

Once I am certain she is no longer in hearing distance, I turn to my friends. Can I call them my friends, school mates,? Never mind!

"So guys, when are we leaving?" I ask, looking around.

"Somewhere around 3:30" Riley answers me, looking at her wrist watch.

"Well it's 3:04 pm right now. Why dont you guys get comfy in the living room? I'll be right back!" I say before running up the stairs to my room.

I decided to wear white high-waisted shorts with a navy laced crop top and my Vanz, with my black hair down.

I skip down stairs and walk into the living room where all my friends are watching TV. When I walk into the room, all eyes immediately go on me, and those eyes stay there for a long while until I decide to break the silence.

"What?" I ask honestly surprised by their facial expressions. Even Raven is looking at me like the last samoosa ever! Sorry, I am extremely obsessed with samoosas.

"You look, just, wow!" Owen said finally, which made my cheeks turn into a deep shade of red.

"Okay guys let's bounce!" I say recovering from my blushing session.

"Girl, I've got to say this! You look awesome but dont steal all the guys tonight. Besides, it's clear you and Owen got a tiny flame burning!" Riley admits before winking and running ahead of me to catch up with the rest of the gang. I shake my head slightly and continue to walk behind the group.

I know Riley was just messing, but why do her words make me all warm inside?

We walk into the house of the party, the loud music making my ear drums ring. On the dance floor, girls are dancing with each other while the guys play fuseball or pool. This is actually a calm party.

I find the kitchen and grab a soda can, opening it and taking a long sip, one I really needed.

I decide to follow my friends around while the move around the house. We eventually make our way to the pool, where there are a few people swimming and kicking their feet in the water. This party is a perfect example that you can definitely have fun at a party without alcohol.

I spot Owen between all the riff-raff of people. I look away before he noticed I was staring at him. The words he said to my earlier ringing in my head once again.

You look, just, wow!

Once again I find myself blushing at the simple but sweet sentence. Was there some truth behind want Riley said.

Did Owen see me differently to other girls?

Did Owen like me?
