Author’s Recap from the previous chapter: With Margaret thinking that she is entering her seventh month of pregnancy--when she is actually entering her ninth and final month of pregnancy and Fiona and Baird’s baby news yet to be announced to Cameron and Hannah, let alone that mature couples own baby joy yet to be announced to anyone--the extended Thornton-Ogilvy-MacInthosh family will have an exciting we of visiting together in Scotland. John and the men will be overseeing the installation of the new weaving looms and other machinery at the newly established Ogilvy-Thornton Scottish Mills. Whilst the ladies and children rediscover whatever ladies enjoy when two or more are gathered together. And the fun will culminate in the highland Games with Lord Jamie Ogilvy leading their team. Though, the outcome of the games will not be quite what they expect.

After their day long train ride to Angus, Scotland this Friday, June 13th from their week long visit in London, John and Margaret, Baird and Fiona, and the MacIntosh Family--with Margaret’s parents, The Hales, staying in London with the Shaw-Lennox’s--everyone repairs to their respective destinations for lodging. John and Margaret will stay at Airlie Castle with their hosts the Earl and Countess of Airlie--Cameron and Hannah Ogilvy. The MacIntosh Family of Angharad, Alistair, five year old Andrew, and baby Amanda also takes up residence at the castle in their usual guest apartments.
However Baird has another surprise for his new bride Fiona as he whisks her away to their own private cottage on the Airlie Estate grounds. As Baird and Fiona’s carriage brings them through the tree lined drive, the Tudor style manor [(2) right] comes into their view, nestled as it is into a forested area with lovingly tended formal grounds landscaping with abundant shrubs and flowers. The L-shaped manor is small with only six family and guest bed chambers and a master suite housed in the back wing above the combined library and drawing room facing the back of the manor. But the rooms are amply sized for a family and it is spacious enough for small gatherings of thirty or so people at holiday times and other festivities.
