A flame danced in my hand and I waited for his reaction. He was silent for awhile.
"You have powers? Was it you that made the flame outside?" He moved closer to the flame on my palm. I shook my head.
"No. This is why Shag asked that."
"And the rain?" I let the flame die and pulled water from a near by vase.
"I control the elements. Earth, water, air, and fire." I moved the water through the air, around his head before returning it to the vase.
"Does anybody know?"
"No!" I said quickly. I cleared my throat. "Only Shag and Scoob, I mean. Well, and now you." He nodded.
"Are you going to tell Cat?" I looked away.
"I don't know. I was scared to tell you, let alone him and the rest. It could end badly." I heard him laugh. I looked up at him with an offended look. "Starchild!"
"Sorry! Sorry. It's just...you're afraid to tell 4 Rockstar Super heroes that you have powers?" I smiled small.
"I guess I am a little paranoid" He smiled and set a hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah, you are." He got a look on his face and looked away.
"Starchild?"
"You said it was a woman who you've been seeing." I nodded. "And in mirrors, dreams, and TV's?"
"Yeah, well in the dream I saw her in the water."
"All reflective surfaces." He was thinking. "She might be the one causing all the other events too. A wave in your dream, the fire's twice, but the timber wolf doesn't make sense. Well not entirely."
"It's as if she's playing off my powers. Except the wolf does not fit. I control the elements not natural vegetation."
"I'll keep my mind open to try and find out who it is. Meanwhile, you should tell the others about your abilities." His hand took mine and lifted it up.
"I don't know." He lifted my face to where I was looking at him.
"It will be fine." I nodded and we made our way back to main living area. "How do you want to go about this?" I sighed.
"I'll have Shag and Scoob help." He nodded. I walked over to Shag. "I need your help."
"Sure. What with?" I whispered the plan into his ear. His eyes widen in shock. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm sure." I walked over to the counter where everyone else was at. "Hey guys. I need to tell you something."
"Sure, Jewels is something wrong?" Spaceman inquired.
"You can tell us." Cat added. He had moved next to me in attempt to comfort.
"It may be easier to show you." I took a few steps back.
"Jewelie?" Cat questioned. I looked at Star and he nodded.
"Shag go ahead." Shaggy came near and had a cup of water. The three had confused looks. Next thing they knew, Shag threw the water at me.
"What?" They all said as he did. But went quiet when the water didn't hit me but stopped right above me. I moved my hand and the water moved down to circle it.
"What in the..." Demon trailed off.
"I can control the elements. Water, Earth, air, and fire." I explained. "I have since I was young. Never knew why." I bent the water to the sink and let it go.
"You okay?" Shag asked.
"Yeah. And before you ask, I had nothing to do with fire outside."
"What are you though?" Demon asked while standing. Cat moved to my side.
"Some people call it elementals, some call it benders. Water bending, fire bending, and so on. I'm human but with powers." I stopped for a second. "Never really though about it."
"Wow." Spaceman said. "That was certainly unexpected." I looked at Cat beside me. He had a distant look on his face and deep in his eyes.
"Catman?" He looked at me. His eyes hardened and he backed away. "Cat?" He turned away and walked out the door into the rain. I looked to Starchild.
"I don't, I don't know Jewelie. I'm sorry." He looked like he was trying to find words to say. I stopped him.
"No it's fine. Ex-excuse me." I made my way up the stairs. I shook my head. I slowly made my way to Cat's room. Once inside, I just looked around. Wandering around the room, I stopped in front of the photo of them at Magic Mountain. I looked over at the balcony. I went over to it, sat on the floor, and lent against the glass. I fell asleep.
Dream*
I opened my eyes to see I was in a forest. I was laying on my stomach on the ground. Groaning, I sat up and looked around. Nothing was familiar.
"Looking for someone?" The reflection woman stepped out from behind a tree. I quickly got to my feet.
"Who are you?" She came closer.
"Oh, me? I'm just someone who wants to help." She was now in front of me. "My name it Hathor. What's wrong?"
"None of your concern." I turned away but kept her in my line of vision.
"Oh, really. Your boyfriend rejected you for who you really are? Couldn't handle the truth?" I flinched.
"He's not my boyfriend." She circled me.
"But you do care for him, don't you?" She smiled. I noticed that her canine teeth were a little long. "I mean he did save you on many occasions during your Rock'n'Roll mystery. Also taking care of you when you had your head injury." Her hand brushed my hair.
"That is none of your concern."
"Haha. Defensive. Aren't we?" She laughed. "I wouldn't do that to you. I can give you anything you want." She leaned over my shoulder from behind me. "You only have to trust me." Something wasn't right about her.
"No, no way. I don't know you." I turned around and backed away from her.
"You'll come around. You'll see." The forest faded away.
End Dream*
I jumped awake and hit my head slightly on the glass. I shook my head. It was still night and storming. A lightening strike lite up the room and I froze at the sight of the figure across the room.
