We made it to the outpost unharmed and landed a few feet in front of the door. Starchild moved forward and opened the door. We both stepped in and the place looked like a salon time forgot.
"Stay close to me." Star whispered. "There are people here that are not fond of the guardians and the elite of KISSteria." I nodded and kept close to him. I looked around and saw the glares.
"You weren't kidding." I muttered. We made our way to the counter and the lady behind gave us a kind smile.
"What can I do you for, Starchild?" She asked. She had what looked to be a rose around her eye and vines down the side of her face. She glanced at me then did a double take. "You're one..."
"Shh!" Star quieted her outburst. She gave an apology smile.
"You're one of the Scooby Gang." I nodded. She smiled wider and turned back to Starchild. I took a step off as they conversed. I leant against the counter, letting my mind wonder.
"She's cute." I was pulled back to reality when a gruff voice was too close. I looked up and saw one of the unfriendlys. He was walking closer. I didn't make a move but glanced over at Star. He hadn't noticed.
"How about a smile?" I turned and glared at the man. "Awe come, pretty thing. One smile?" I shook my head. He went to touch my face but never got the chance. I shot my hand out and air rushed past me, hitting him and flinging him across the room.
"Hey!" Yells insinuated from the room. Starchild whipped around and saw the mess in front of me.
"You little bitch." Another guy went to charge at me but I froze his feet to the ground with water from the sink basin. A lot of others stood up. I went to bend again but Starchild grabbed my arm and pulled me off to the side.
"That's enough!" The woman yelled. I noticed some of the plants and other vegetation in the room start to move and pulse. "I have had to tell you a million times to lay off! You start so many of the fights in this place by either harassing woman or antagonizing someone and I am tired of it. Out!"
"This place is lousy anyway!" The man that I flung stalked toward the door but turned back. "And another thing..." A vine from the honeysuckle plant that run over the doorway grabbed and threw him out.
"And stay out!" The woman yelled after him. The vine closed the door before receding back into the plant. "Now everyone else, back to whatever you were doing. How about we take this to the back."
"Please." Starchild asked. We went into the back room that looked like a living space/green house.
"I'm sorry about that darling. He is a menace." I smiled at her. "But I must say, you handled it well with your powers. Are you KISSterian?"
"She's half actually and it's one of the reason we're here. Hathor is back and is after something we have. We were somehow dropped out past that oasis a few miles to the West by a rogue portal."
"My lord, Hathor?" She shook her head. "No one's seen hide nor hair of her in years."
"Exactly. Jewels here is the daughter of Whirlwind and we all know she hated him. Is the communications working to the capital?" She nodded and led him to it. I sat down and rested until only she came back.
"Whirlwinds daughter, huh?" I nodded.
"I didn't know he was KISSterian until, like, yesterday. So still knew to me." She nodded in understanding. "He kept it a secret after my mother died to protect me from this until I was old enough."
"That's sad. I'm sorry darling. Oh, and my name is Venus. As you saw I have the power of nature's vegetation." She brought a vine out and made it into random shapes. I laughed but stalled when a thought came into mind.
"The timber wolf." She gave me a confused look. "The timber wolf. We've been chased by a wolf completely made out of vines and timbers." Starchild came back in in the moment.
"I've gotten ahold of the Elder. She is making preparations."
"Starchild. The timber wolf." I nearly yelled. "Venus has the power to control vegetation. The wolf is created by either same or MIMICED power." Realization came across his face.
"Have you met any strange woman as of late here?"
Cat's POV
Wind rushed up and past us as we exited the portal. The Gang was sitting in front of the stage like before. They were not in shock anymore but more concerned for their fellow team member. I noticed Whirlwind fidgeting.
'She'll be alright." I told him. He looked at me. "She's strong and brave. From all the stories we've heard and what we have personally witnessed. She can hold her own."
"I believe you but you can't blame a father for worrying about his daughter." I chuckled. "I wish I had been there for her." He looked down at his feet.
"She doesn't blame you. Not anymore at least." I told him. "She didn't really talk about you but when she did was had two edges to her voice. Anger and longing. Although she was upset with you for leaving, she has longed for her father."
"Really?"
"Yep." Shaggy chipped in. We both looked at him. "Take it from someone who has been there through it all."
"Thank you for that." Whirlwind bowed his head. "I'm glad she has had someone she could always turn too. And just between us, I'm glad it wasn't that hag of an Aunt of Jewelie's." Shag burst out laughing. "And thank you Catman. I'm glad she could find love in someone I know can protect her."
"I..." I was interrupted by a horn. We all looked and saw the Elder was flying to meet us. We stopped the ship and she landed on the stage.
"I have received word from Starchild and Jewelie. They are safe in an Outpost past the Destroyer's Mountain. Though they are being followed and have had some confrontation with some ruffians."
"That's good to hear...I guess." Daphne commented.
"Which Outpost?" Demon asked.
"Wistlore." She told. "But there is something else that you need to know before you go. "Hathor has been in medial custody for the past two months in a coma. There is no way that this is her. Starchild does not know of this."
"What?" We all asked. We looked at each other in question.
"Whoever is doing this, knows of the old feud between Hathor and Whirlwind, as well as the location the Amulet of Amplify. It could be anyone."
