The reactions from my parents were way scarier than I expected.

And that meant a lot, when I expected them to scream at me for the rest of the night, and for the rest of my days coming. On top of that, I expected that they'd be so loud that my eardrums would burst, and my skin would blow off from the powerful force of their voice.

But boy, was I wrong. This was way, way, way more terrifying.

My parents didn't say anything.

Nothing, nada — not even a little, 'Today is your last day of living, Raiya Acharaya.' They didn't even breathe on me, nor even look at me.

And that was the worst possible reaction they could ever give me, because now I felt guilty as hell!

So here I was, sitting on the awfully comfortable sofa in the living room, studying my brain off. It was eight O'clock on a Wednesday morning, and my classes didn't start until twelve in the afternoon. Isn't just amazing being a senior in highschool?

Though today I didn't feel very amazing. My parents had walked passed me an hour ago when they were off to work, and all my mom had said was, "Your lunch is on the kitchen counter."

Can you believe that?! How dare she not give me a ear-bleeding lecture about my rank!

Great, now I had to suffer the unbearable feeling of guilt.

I sighed. I'd rather have my parents be mad at me, than be disappointed. It's too much.

Feeling more motivated than ever, I hastily resumed studying, speaking the words out loud before my eyes even landed on it. How was that possible? Well, because I knew this textbook off by heart! In fact, I knew every textbook for each of my subjects off by heart. If you can imagine the effort that would take, then you could imagine how frustrated I felt when I saw no sign of books in Stefan-motherflipping-Chase's room. Oh, and not to mention that he didn't even pay attention in class!

I slammed the textbook shut and let out a frustrated scream. Who the hell came up with 'hardwork pays off'?! Because I would like to give them a personal recount of my life and see what they'd have to say to that!

Yet, at the same time, I felt sorry for Stefan. His brother passed away, and everywhere he went, he was blamed for it just because of a 'rumour'. How it all began, I wonder. Nevertheless, I believe him. After what he had said yesterday, and the look in his dark eyes... Words cannot describe the whirling sad emotions I saw in them.

Besides, I had no right to judge him, especially after what happened with my sister.

She'll never forgive you, Raiya.

Out of nowhere, Zara barged in through the front door and stomped her left combat boot, followed by an ear-piercing scream. Even worse, since the house was pretty much empty, her scream echoed. Damn, my scream earlier was practically a whisper compared to this.

"Ow," I muttered, rubbing my ears. "Why are you here?"

Panting vigorously with rage, her face turned to me with a deadly glare. "Why are you here?"
