Introductions

Hey! so after watching the episode of deathnote where Ryuzaki helps Light dry himself off I couldn't help but want to write a little fan fic about the two of them xD
I'm sorry if this is really bad..and short... Please comment to let me know what you think? More comments = more story haha... here goes!

After working for weeks on the Kira investigation,  L can't help but suspect the Chief director's son, Light Yagami , of being the much sort after mass murderer.  Ryuzaki knows that the only way to get close enough to Light, to make a final decision regarding Ligh-kuns innocence, is to reveal and expose himself to him; despite the risk of losing his fighting battle and being murdered by Kira, L continues with his plan...

{L's point of view}

"you there!  Sit properly in your chair!"

I expect the examiner was hoping to embarrass me enough to force me out of my usual seating position,  what an idiot.  Although he did succeed in helping me gain my target's attention: Light Yagami was seated three rows ahead and I could see him glaring backwards,  straight at me. The tension was unbearable.

After the exam I decided to approach Light,  introduce him to my alias to break the ice and gain his trust before my revelation...

"Light Yagami?"

"uh..yeah? Hi?"

I could see he'd instantly made the connection between myself and the unusual student crouching on their seat during the exam. Perhaps it was my relaxed posture gave me away...

"I'm Hideki Ryuga, I've heard we'll both be competing for the scholarship speech this year."

"Huh... oh, yeah..."

"Anyway I'm very busy so I'd best be heading off, I just wanted to introduce myself."

"okay, well it was nice meeting you Ryuga"

There. That should be enough just to prevent me seeming like a complete stranger when I confess to being L.

A few more weeks pass as the results on the End of Year exam are calculated.  L makes several breif appearances to Light, with each one making them more and more comfortable with one another.  As expected Light placed first in the results ranking with a perfect score so was asked to prepare a speech at his graduation.  However he was to share  this spotlight with another student who had also obtained a perfect score.

' Finally,  graduation day. This really couldn't have come any sooner'  I thought as I dressed myself in my black robes in preparation for thw graduation.  I made my way downstairs to be greeted by my mother and sister,  Sayu.

"Oh my God Light I can't believe you're finally graduating and with a perfect score!  You're so clever, Nii-San" Sayu exclaimed while launching herself at me and forcing me into a proud embrace.

"Thanks Sayu, the exam really wasn't that difficult though!" I replied.

Both mum and Sayu rolled their eyes in a sarcastic way toward me but I couldn't stay to confront them on it-I couldn't be late for my own graduation!

When I arrived at the ceremony, I made my way down to the front of the audience in order to obtain a seat close to the stage for ease of getting up to my speech. I took my place and was almost instantly joined by Ryuga,  what does he want this time?

I'd first met Ryuga after the final exam,  I remember him vividly due to his clandestine characteristics. Every time we conversed he was wearing a creased white shirt,  that looked far too big for him,baggy green jeans and he was always bare foot.  On top of that his thick, black hair fell freely, without style, over his face: hiding his unusually wide eyes. 

I couldn't help but wonder why he had sat at the front,  and why he'd chosen to place himself next to me! Maybe he's an undercover cop? No... I've been far to careful with the notebook to have raised suspicion... My thoughts were interrupted by my name being called onto the stage to produce my speech,  I swiftly made my way up to be greeted by a round of applause, now to discover who also scored 100%...

"... Hideki Ryuga!"

What? how did HE get a perfect score?!

Ryuga makes his way to the stage too,  with a smug grin on his face as if to mock me-but no applause followed him.

We both read our speeches to the audience,  I went first and stood back to witness Ryuga's peculiar method of holding his speech delicately by it's corner. Once we'd both finished,  we returned to our seats in preparation for the ending ceremony. 

"pst, Light,  I want to tell you something...but it is very important that you do not tell anybody else... Can I trust you?.."

"Sure, you can trust me. What is it?"

whatever it is it can't be that important,  surely?.. why's he taking so long to reply?  I glance over at Ryuga to find a puzzled look in his eyes, as if he were contemplating on whether to go ahead with what he was about to tell me or not.

"Well?.." I pushed.

"I want... to tell you.. I want to tell you that I am L."

Time froze as I attempted to evaluate all angles of the situation I'd been put in. This was easier said than done with Ryuk laughing to himself at my misfortune. Could this really be L, right in front of me? I suppose I'll have to be careful with how I react... if I panic he'll begin to suspect that I'm Kira...

"How do I know you're the real L? and besides,  why would you reveal yourself to me?.."

"I've revealed myself to you because... I think you, Light Yagami,  are Kira."
