Emerson's POV
I sit down at a table after walking away from the dance floor and watch Liam walk away with his head hanging down. What I wanted to do was go over there and apologize for being that way, but I knew I couldn't. It would go against everything I promised myself over the past two years.
I looked back at Harry, who had followed me from the dance floor. "It's complicated," I try explaining, "it's just something nobody needs to know." I didn't really feel like getting judged any further, because that's probably what he's doing in his head right now. "I-I gotta go. It was fun, really. Thanks Harry!" And I dash away, trying to find Layla.
I tried looking for her at the bar, but she wasn't there. She must be with Zayn. I smiled at myself, hoping those two get together.
After five minutes of looking for her, I find her sitting in a very secluded section of the club, getting very... cozy with Zayn. I didn't want to go over there and ruin it, but I had to tell her I was leaving.
"Layla," I call out. She looked up and gave me 'I am so gonna kill you and not feel sorry about it' look. "Sorry, but uh, I'm going to go."
She scrambled from her seat next to Zayn, and demanded, "Why?!"
"I.. I'll tell you about it later, okay? Stay here with Zayn. I'll go ask him if he can bring you home or something." I ignored her protests and went to Zayn.
"Zayn? I'm leaving, but I'm pretty sure Layla wants to stay. Do you think you could bring her home or something? I'm taking the car," I plead.
The Bradford boy nodded, and said in his deep voice, "Yeah, of course."
"Thank you so much! I owe you one!" I call out as I was walking to the door. Before I left, I grabbed Layla's arm and whispered in her ear, "You two are super cute." I winked and left the VIP room. I don't know if it was actually VIP, but I'll call it that because it sure felt like it.
Making my way down the stairs, I finally stepped out the club door into fresh air. I just needed a good night's sleep and some Starbucks in the morning. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I couldn't help but notice a certain brown-haired boy sitting with his head in his hands on the sidewalk.

Liam's POV
Ring, ring, ring. Ring,-
"Hello?" I asked. I couldn't help but notice my voice was monotone.
"Hey babe! Are you alright? You sound either sad, or bored."
I chuckled. Somehow Danielle can always guess my moods just by a few words, and she always knows how to make me feel better. "Both. So what are you up to?"
"Partying real quick with the girls. And don't change the subject. Why are you sad?"
I didn't tell her the real reason because she has no idea who Emerson is, and I didn't really want to explain it. But I didn't lie either. "I miss you."
"Aw Liam! I miss you too! But, I er, I got to go! Talk later, yeah? Love you." She hung up before I could even reply. That was weird. I ignored it though, she probably had to go back to the hotel or whatever.
I stood up and brushed off my pants and walked slowly back inside. Yeah, I was sad, but I intend to find out what I did so I can make things right. I didn't realize how glad I was to see Emerson until last night.
"Liam? Hey, what was that back there? You alright man?" A deep voice asked behind me.
I shrugged. "Yeah Haz, I'm fine. It's just something I need to figure out I guess," I pause, not really sure how to ask this, but I knew I had to find out. "Hey Harry?"
