Liam's POV
"Why don't you look through all of the promises you made, and see if you kept any of them. When you figure it out, come and talk to me."
Emerson's words kept on replaying over and over in my head. What promise? Sure, I've made lots of promises, followed some through, others I haven't. I know that every promise I made to Emerson I kept and followed through. At least I think.
My iPhone buzzed, I picked up when the caller ID showed my girlfriend, Danielle.
"Hey, love." I couldn't stop from grinning. I love Danielle so much.
"Hey babe. How was your concert? I'm sure you did amazing. I'm still mad that I couldn't come and see you, especially your homecoming concert!" She ranted over the phone. Danielle is in New Zealand for a dance boot camp for two months. She has been gone for one week so far, and I miss her like crazy.
I chuckled. "Don't worry about it! You are doing your job and I'm doing mine. It's what we have to do, love. And the concert was amazing. It feels so good to be home again! But it will be even better when you're here." I say wistfully.
"Oh whatever. I bet you're at the bar right now with the boys getting drunk and dancing with some stripper." I could hear the joking tone in her voice, but it still didn't stop me from getting hurt and annoyed.
"Well, you know that would never happen. I got to go Danielle, love you" I sigh. I hung up. Long distance has always been a struggle for Danielle and I. She believes that our quick fame may eventually cloud my judgement and do something to ruin our relationship. She jokes about me seeing other girls whenever she's gone, and the longer we are separated, the more those jokes seem to be a dig at me. It can be exhausting keeping a conversation with her for longer than five minutes sometimes.
I sigh again, trying to make sense of everything that happened tonight- from performing in our home country, to dealing with Danielle, to seeing Emerson for the first time in years.
I lied down on my bed, pondering Emerson's words. What could they possibly mean?

Emerson's POV
"Why didn't you tell me we have our own apartment for a month! If I would have known, I would have packed! Now I don't have any clothes!" I whined as we drove down the city streets on the way to our apartment, enjoying the night lights.
"Oh quit whining! It was supposed to be a surprise since your birthday is in like three weeks, and I didn't know what to get you, so I thought that this would be the best surprise. And Evan came to your house and packed all of your clothes, and drove them to the apartment while we were at the concert."
Evan is Layla's big brother. I glanced at the time. It was 11:45, but it feels like days ago that we were back home in Wolverhampton.
Once we finally arrived at our new building, reality hit me. We are going to be in London for the next month, and I will be living with my best friend.
"So, how are our parents managing this? I've never heard of a one month lease," I question her as we take our smaller bags out of the car.
Her brown eyes sparkle with excitement as she explains, "This flat actually belongs to my brother's friends' parents from uni, and they are gone for the whole summer, and they needed someone to watch over the place while their son was away for rugby. My brother knew that we had nothing better to do this summer, and offered us up for the job. I was able to do some convincing with both of our parents, and I finally won them over, and I actually managed to make this a surprise for you," she gushes, proud at her accomplishment.
