A/N: This is the second chapter. Hope you like it!
*Millie's POV
I jump out of the car, wave my mom goodbye and grab my bags. I can hear kids screaming already and I sigh. A boy runs into me, almost making me fall on the ground, and I roll my eyes. This is not for me.
I walk to the front of the camp, where is a middle-aged woman, she's pretty, with black hair curled in the tips and dark eyes. I stand there staring at the environment, looking kinda lost, but when she sees me, she smiles broadly and walks over to me.
"Hey! You must be Millie Brown, right?" she asks, as we start walking towards the entrance.
"Yeah..." I frown.
"Well, I'm Carla, and I take care of the camp. If you ever need anything, just ask me. I'll show you your room, you'll share it with the other girls." She says, leading me to the dorms.
I just nod as we start walking. She goes guiding me through the camp, but I don't pay attention to any information. We stop talking when we reach the rooms.
"And here we are. On your left, are the boys' dorms. You can visit your friends there, but you can't spend the night. The girls' are on the right. You're gonna be with the girls your age." Carla says, smiling at me.
"Okay. Which one is it?" I ask.
"The first one on the right. If you need anything, just come to me." She waves and walks back to the front of the camp.
I stop at the door, knocking three times. I hear someone laughing and a girl opens it to me.
"Hey! You're Millie, right? Oh my god, you're so pretty! I'm Maddie, by the way." The girl says smiling and hugs me.
"Thanks..." I say while she squeezes me, and I laugh a little bit. She's nice. As soon as she releases me, another girl hugs me too.
"Hi! I'm Lilia! I'm so excited we're gonna be roommates!" She grabs my hands as Maddie takes my bags to the closet.
I was, deep down, kind of afraid the people here would be mean to me or just a bunch of losers. But they're both really nice and pretty. We sit on the bed and talk, the girls tell me everything about the camp. They're really talkative, and we instantly become super close. They know I don't like it here, I ended up telling them everything that got me so mad. But I think I am starting to not hate it with every nerve in my body anymore.
After about an hour talking, Maddie and Lilia get out to get ice cream for us, leaving me to unpack my stuff. Suddenly, someone knocks on the door.
Finn's POV
When I first came to the camp, I was 5 and I was shy. I didn't socialize much. My mom was sure I would make friends here, but I didn't believe her. The only person I talked to was my brother, but he was older and had friends of his own. But there was this boy, my roommate. He was just like me, we both had older siblings, we were weirdos and we loved D&D. His name was Noah. We became best friends on the day we met.
Two summers later, the camp got bigger. The rooms now had four people. At that time, I wasn't the same kid anymore. I was more talkative, happier. But although I was really excited to make new friends, I was scared they wouldn't accept me. And then Caleb showed up. He was this super cool kid, a little bit of a troublemaker, but incredibly nice. He was already friends with Gaten, our fourth member, who was a joker, but the most kindhearted.
They joined Noah and I and we all became best friends. We were inseparable, like brothers and we promised we would never lie to each other.
Friends don't lie. That's our rule.
This was our group. Summers passed by and we would always stick together. We've been through a lot, good and bad stuff, but our friendship never faded away. And now here we are, the same four idiots, on our last year of camp. And some of us, complaining about having to take care of children.
"Bullshit. This is bullshit." Gaten says, almost falling off the bed.
"Oh come on guys, it's not that bad." I say, unpacking my bag.
"WE ARE BABYSITTING TEN YEAR OLDS. Of course it's bad. Do you remember how WE were when we were ten?"
"Yes, Caleb. And that's why I know we can do this. We've been through the same thing." I answer, Caleb frowning at me.
He's about to say something when Noah rushes into the room.
"Hey guys! So, I just came back from the girls' dorm and I didn't find Maddie. There's a new face here."
"What?" Gaten asks, sounding completely lost.
"I was looking for Maddie cause she is the only one who has our schedule. But when I went to her room, there was this girl. I think she's the new girl Carla told us about. She said her name was-"
Cutting Noah's story, our door is slammed open. Maddie and Lilia show up. They never knock. They were the only girls that spoke with us when we were younger, so they became part of the group too. They just turned seventeen and are monitoring with us this year.
"I know you were looking for me, Noah, and here am I. 'Sup peeps." Maddie waves at us with an ice cream in hand.
"We have someone we want you to meet. She's new here. Be nice. Losers, this is our new friend, Millie. She's going to hang with us this summer." Lilia speaks as Maddie pushes the girl into the room.
She's pretty. No, Maddie and Lilia are pretty. She's not pretty. She's beautiful. She has short, shoulder-length brown hair and hazel eyes. Her cheeks have a slight shade of pink, but she looks a little bit angry. She crosses her arms and rolls her eyes in annoyance.
"Oh come on Mills, at least pretend you like here." Maddie jokes, pinching her on the waist. She laughs, and I swear, her smile makes everything around me stop.
"Argh, okay. Hey guys." She stops laughing but keeps a small smile on her face, and waves at us rolling her eyes again. I like her.
