A/N: Chapter eight y'all. A little bit different from the others.
Hope you like it!
*Millie's POV
Maddie is the first one to jump out of the salty water.
"Caleb, help me here with the campfire." She screams at him.
"Why me?" he sighs annoyed but walks to the sand.
"Because you're the one that know how to do it." She smiles and grabs his wrist, taking him away.
The nights are colder, so eventually, everyone gets out. Lilia and Gaten go prepare the things we would eat and Noah is choosing the music to play on his phone. Finn and I, on the other hand, are still wet. He wipes his hair with a towel and gives it to me.
I take it without meeting his eyes and mumble a "thanks". My dress is all wet, so I take it off and I can feel his eyes on me. And I know he is smirking. I throw it in the sand, beside Lilia's shorts and Maddie's (now empty) bag.
Finn is in front of me and he doesn't put on his shirt, so I try to keep myself from staring. A song starts playing through Noah's phone, too loud, and I jump at the sudden blast.
"Oh my god Noah, my ears!" Maddie screams at him.
"It's too loud!" Gaten yells.
"Yeah, I noticed." The little boy lowers the volume and rolls his eyes.
"Can I pick the song?" Lilia asks, already taking the phone in her hands.
"Sure..." Noah says as Lilia changes the music.
Maddie rolls her eyes playfully as the songs keep changing. Her and Caleb finally set the bonfire, Noah and Lilia are arguing about the song choice and Gaten is already putting his marshmallows on a stick. "Catch and Release" starts playing, and Lilia smiles at me. She introduced this song to me and I am literally obsessed.
There's a place I go to
Where no one knows me
It's not lonely
It's a necessary thing.I grab her hands and we start dancing and twirling and laughing. She sings along and I just smile, knowing that we can't dance for the life of us. But why does it matter? I'm actually happy.
It's a place I made up
Find out what I'm made of
The nights are stayed up
Counting stars and fighting sleepWhen I'm dancing and laughing with Lilia, it reminds me of my best friend. I always loved when Sadie came over to my house and we just sang along to Disney songs jumping on my bed. I miss her. It would be so cool if she was here with me. I know I despised this place at first, but now I don't think I want to leave here so soon.
I turn to Finn and he's not smirking anymore. He is truly smiling and there is some kind of look on his face that I've never seen before. Like he is admiring me. He offers his hand and I place my hands on my hips.
Steady on down the line
Loose every sense of time
Take it all in and wake up that small part of me"Dance with me."
"Why?" I reply, blushing a little.
"It won't kill ya." He says, and I take his hand.
"I can't dance." I say as he pulls me to him.
