Kathleen
Kathleen sat down next to her friends, Minho and Newt. Minho looked up from his food, grunted in acknowledgement, and looked back to his food. Newt managed a "morning" through the eggs in his mouth.
"Morning y'all pieces of klunk." Kathleen said with a smile.
"Who are you calling a piece of klunk, you piece of klunk? Also, good morning." Minho replied.
"Shut up, shuck-faces." Newt said annoyed.
"What got your runner's undies in a twist?" Kathleen asked. Newt brushed her off.
"Anyways," Minho said relieving the tension. "Are we gonna meet up in the maze for lunch?"
"Yeah, you can take my lunch too! I'd rather not have to carry it." Kathleen replied nonchalantly. Minho half-heartedly glared at her, but the smirk on his face was prominent. Newt was seen rolling his eyes, but the ghost of a smile caressed his features. Then Minho glanced at his watch and swore.
"Ok, we've gotta go! Bye Newtie the Cutie! C'mon Kat!"
"Chill, you shank, let me eat my food before I puke all over the maze walls. Bye Newtie!" Kathleen yelled over shoulder as she ran next to Minho. Newt looked at them fondly and waved.

As strange as it sounded, the maze walls were somewhat comforting to Kathleen. They gave her a sense of hope, that they might not be trapped in the glade forever. She looked at the vines creeping up the walls and thought to herself,
How did they get there?
Minho's heavy footsteps and breaths shook her out of her thoughts.
"Let's split here," Minho breathed. "Lunch here too." Kathleen nodded, not wanting to waste any breath. Minho ran to the right and Kathleen continued her run forward.
After a few minutes, or hours, Kathleen could never tell, she always relied on her runners' watch, she began to hear voices. She couldn't identify them as familiar, so naturally, she was terrified. Kathleen quietly took her machete out of it's sheath.
"-Nico-"
"Where in the name of-"
"Hades?!"
"-no sense-"
"What-"
"-did you hear?"
Then it was silent. The voices stopped and Kathleen's breathing ceased. She knew it was too dangerous to look around the corner, for they were probably staring right where she was.
So, she did what she deemed as the right thing to do.
She ran like a shank who needed to klunk.
Then a body materialized from the shadows of the vines. Kathleen was so shocked that she stumbled a bit, which gave shadow boy a chance to pin her to the maze walls. She didn't think they were so comforting now. One hand pinned her neck to the wall, and the other boy's hand kept her from wielding her machete.
"Nico!" called a girl's voice. Kathleen almost fainted since she hasn't heard another girl's voice since........since she came to the glade, she realized.
"Who in the name of my father are you and where in Tartarus are we?!" yelled Shadow Boy.
"Up your ass and around the shucking corner, shank," called Kathleen. The boy growled and tightened the grip around her neck.
"Nico! Let her GO! This is unnecessary!" yelled the girl again.
"Yea she's right!" Kathleen agreed, still gasping for breath. The boy, Nico, still ignored her.
"This is completely necessary, Evelyn! We have no idea where we are and this random chick decides to show up!"
"Nico! Don't you understand! She could get us out of here!"
"Yea Nico!" Kathleen agreed once again.
"Shut up vlacas! Or I'll shove my sword up your podex!" Nico yelled at her.
"Excuse me? Who are you calling an idiot, you shuck-face! And besides, I don't do anal," Kathleen spat. Nico went into a state of shock, for some reason unknown to Kathleen. The girl, Evelyn, Kathleen remembered, was heard trying to stifle a laugh. Nico's grip on Kathleen's neck loosened in his state of shock so she was able to escape and point her machete at the murderous guests.
"I can help you. I can explain what's going on. I know every crack and vine in this maze," Kathleen stated.
"Hard to trust someone with a machete in their hand," commented Nico. Evelyn smacked his arm.
"Shut up, you're ruining everything, don't you wanna see your boyfriend?" remarked Evelyn. Nico's face turned red and Kathleen raised an eyebrow.
"Trust me, please." Kathleen looked straight (A/N something Nico will never be) into Nico's eyes, which she noticed were the exact same shade as hers. "I know you, Nico. I don't know how, or why, but I do."
"Bianca," Nico muttered. His eyes softened for a fraction of a second, but they returned to their hardened state so quickly it was almost unnoticeable. Evelyn gave him a worried glance. Kathleen slowly put her machete down.
"Follow me, and you might live." she ordered. "Stay?" she gave an empty laugh. "Have fun being Griever chow."
"Griever?" questioned Evelyn. Kathleen ignored her and started on her way to her lunch checkpoint with Minho.
"I need to meet up with my friend, before he starts to worry. Let's go. And don't stop running. And please, try to keep up." She then began to sprint to the checkpoint. Kathleen could faintly hear Nico's and Evelyn's footsteps behind her own.
After her millionth right turn, she collided with Minho.
"Shuck!" they both yelled.
"Kat!" he exclaimed after registering what happened. A bead of sweat dripped down his forehead. "Where were you!? I got so worried! C'mon it's-" he paused.
"Who the shuck are they!"
