I considered myself as a punctual person.
The party starts at 9. And lucky for me, I've arrived at 8:58PM. Today was my day! What more when I get to the party itself? "Do I look okay?" I turned my head to ask for approval of Sadie, who was sitting comfortably beside me, as usual, chewing gum and holding her phone. She eyed me.
"Of course. You literally started prepping up at 5PM. You might as well go." she shrugged. Yes, maybe it took me quite some time to get ready. It was no surprise though-- I was going to a party where everyone in the whole batch was invited. And Chanyeol was there!
I was wearing a simple, white checkered dress, that's literally been given to me by my Uncle a few days ago. I was glad he understood my style. Personally, I do think I have good style. I didn't wear clothes that were too revealing. I wore things that would make me feel more comfortable than pretty, except maybe if I really had to be the star, then I'll take risks.
"Are you sure?" I pressed, pulling out my phone from my purse to see my reflection on the camera. She sighs, before nodding and handing me a gum container, "Yeah. And you should so chill. When did you become so conscious anyways? Whoever the guy is, if what he says offends you, Irina, fuck whatever he says."
I pursed my lips, getting myself some gum and popping it in my mouth, before repeating what she said: "Yeah. Fuck whatever he says." she was right about me being suddenly nervous. This wasn't me. I didn't know why I felt like that, but now, I was feeling confident again. "All right. I'll get going."
"Hmm," she hums, crossing her legs. "We'll be waiting." I stepped outside of the car, quickly closing the door behind me. I scanned the area, only now have I taken in the beauty of the place. This was the first time I've been here, and people were right about it being so pretty.
The outside of the auditorium itself was built and design with magnificent architecture. Admiring it, it looked like it was built in Ancient Greece or so, white, marble pillars standing on each corner, holding up the roof so it won't collapse on the heads of the people. And before the entrance, was a flight of, once again, white marble stairs. I haven't even started to walk, and I was already tired just by looking at it.
And since I took maybe a bit too long with the admiring part, I wasn't surprised when I heard a car park behind me. Instinctively, I looked over my shoulder, the familiar feeling of my lips twitching into a smile coming once again. Lucas stepped outside of the black car, in a white suit, and a fire burned in me that wanted to threaten him that I'll spill juice on the expensive outfit.
I smirked, resting a hand on my hip as he made his way over, purposely avoiding my gaze. "Oh, I thought you wouldn't come?" I sang, feeling the pride of victory swell over me as I spoke.
"Mother told me to attend," he says, finally meeting my gaze. "But now I regret it. I'll go now." he turned on his heel, about to walk away, when I quickly grabbed his wrist to prevent him from being a killjoy. Again.
"I'm not going to let you go home and be boring," I say, rolling my eyes as I did so. "Have you ever attended a party besides a business party?" I cock an eyebrow. He stayed quiet for a short while, before nodding. "Really?"
"You'll be fine." I reassured, gently pulling him with me. "Geez. You don't want to grow up alone and be known as a man who's afraid of people and parties, right? Many'll used that against you. I'm one of those many." I chuckled. He yanked his hand from my grip.
"Just don't do anything embarrassing, Irina.." he says, a light tint of pink powdering his cheeks. My brows furrowed at his request, guards opening the main doors for us as we walked inside. A kind woman then made her way over.
