I woke up and right away, almost on cue my phone rang. I picked it up and heard the voice of my partner Quin.
"Meet me at the diner we have to talk about tomorrow night," his voice wasn't filled with concern but I still got nervous.
"Okay I'll be there in 40 minutes," I hung up and got ready.
I jumped in the shower and got dressed since we were just going to a diner I didn't really care so I put on leggings and a sweatshirt. I brushed my teeth and put my hair in a messy bun then put on some mascara and left. The diner wasn't that far away I found a parking spot and sat by Quin.
"So what's up?" He put his menu down so I could see his face. He has dark brown hair with blonde highlights that's buzzed on the sides and long on the top. He has dark brown eyes and very tan skin with large pink lips and a strong jawline.
"Well hi to you too," he rolled his eyes. "Anyways I think you should come down to the warehouse and work on RC. The guys keep trying to do stuff to it and I keep telling them if they touch it you'll kick their ass, but I think they don't get it." He chuckled.
"I won't kick their ass if they touch it, I'll fucking kill them," an older married couple gave me a look and me and Quin laughed.
"But seriously Devyn even if its small stuff," he looked at the menu again.
"Hello my name is Rachel and I'll be your guys server today, what can I get you guys to drink?" She smiled right at Quin, I already knew where this was going.
"Umm coffee please," he said flatly.
She looked at me with an even bigger smile, which confused me, I guess she's just a bubbly person. "Water," I smiled at her so I wasn't rude.
"Wow she was really giving you the look huh D, you trying to steal my woman?" He joked. He stopped laughing when I kicked his shin under the table. "Hey that hurt," he pulled his shin up and rubbed it.
I pick up my menu and started to looked through it, "Well I wouldn't imagine that it felt good," I said sarcastically.
He rolled his eyes and our waitress came back. "Here's your coffee would you like creamer sir?"
"Yes please," he smiled.
"And here's your water ma'am, are you guys ready to order?" She got out her pad.
"Yeah can I have 2 pieces of French toast, an egg and hash browns?" Quin gave her another big smile trying to 'win is woman back' as he'd say.
"Yup and you?" She asked
"Just two pancakes please," she wrote it down and left.
A man walked in and sat in the booth behind Quin. He had blonde hair and was really tall with lots of tattoos. I'm not gonna lie he was pretty attractive but then I got a good look at one of his tattoos. He was apart of another clan, our clans didn't hate each other it was more of a passive aggressive thing, one other man was with him which I figured was also apart of his clan.
I took my hair out of my bun to cover the small tattoo behind my ear that would give away who I was but by the he kept glaring at me I figured that he already saw it.
I took my phone out and texted Quin letting him know that members from EGR were here so he'd watch what he'd say. Once we finished eating the blonde man came up to our booth and starred right at me.
"You're lil D right?" His voice was deep and I could smell the pot on his clothes from where I was sitting.
I squinted my eyes at him, that was my racing name I don't know how he knew it was me, I never showed my face in that car. I overly tinted the windows for a reason. A woman racing was dangerous because if a man lost to me, he would be out to get me right away. I leaned back and stuck my hand into my purse where my switch blade was just in case. "I guess that depends on who's askin',"
He shook his head and stuck out his hand for me to shake. He had a tight grip so I made sure to be tighter and I starred him right in the eyes. "I'm MGK, I'll see you on the road tomorrow night?" He never let go and I still kept my grip on his hand. I had to act tough or he'd be at my throat about my racing skills.
"Sounds like a plan," he let go of my hand but kept his eyes on me. Like he was studying every feature so he wouldn't forget. He walked away with his friend.
"How does he know it's you!" Quin whisper yelled.
"I don't know, but I am NOT losing against him. Let's go to the warehouse now," we left after I paid and went straight to the warehouse.
I let Quin do the super simple things like change the oil and stuff while I put on new tires on the back and new nitrous. We check all my fluids so I new that she'd be at her best performance.
We told everyone about what happened at the diner and our friend Jake spoke up about it. "I mean if people already know that lil D is a woman why don't you just come party with us now instead of racing and leaving. We'll keep a good watch on you and if anyone tries to start shit we'll take them down,"
I thought long about it, if some people already know then at some point everyone is going to know, "You know I think you're right, and it's not like I can't hold my own either," everyone started to laugh. "How about we lighten up the tint then. And Rick I know you're good at tinting so I guess I'll let you work on RC, but don't fuck up," I warned.
He put his hands up defensively, "I won't I promise, I'll work all night to have her perfect,"
"That's what I wanna hear," we gave a quick one arm hug and I threw him the keys.
You're not gonna win MGK, I'm not gonna be a little bitch about this. I left and went home and went to bed so I was on my game for tomorrow. I was not going to lose to that guy.
