Never Forget (Asriel x OC)

Chapter 2: Midnight Adventures

"I don't know Asriel..." Espeon said nervously as Asriel opened the front door to the house.

"It'll be fine, i've snuck out in the middle of the night many times, and we'll be back before they even notice" he reassured the lavender-haired girl.

"Alright fine... But where are we going?" Espeon asked the goat boy.

"It's a surprise, but trust me, you'll love it" he smiled, she sighed and followed him out the door, closing it behind her.

"Okay, but we better not get lost..." Espeon said cautiously as she followed behind the goat, who was leading the way into the ruins.

"It'll be fine, monsters will leave you alone if you don't intimidate them" he tells her, "besides, I've snuck out at night through these ruins at least a hundreds times" Asriel reassured her, extending his hand to her.

Although Espeon wasn't entirely sure of this, she did feel safer with Asriel by her side.

"Alright, I trust you" she sighed in defeat as she took his soft hand.

*time skip*

"Ahh! Froggit!" Espeon squeeled in surprise as the green, four legged critter jumped out in front of the two.

The cat-like girl took of in a sprint for the door that exits the ruins, she immediately took ahold of the door handle and pushed the door open.

Espeon was immediately engulfed in a strange yet dim, beautiful light. She had never seen nothing like it before.

"It was just a froggit!" Asriel ran to catch up to the girl, however, she just stared out into the night.

"Okay, we're almost there" Asriel inquired as he took ahold of Espeon's hand again, gently tugging her along.

"Are you going to tell me where we're going now?" She asked him, however, Asriel shook his head, making the cat-like girl pout in annoyance.

"Be patient, it's only just ahead" Asriel's told her, but her patience was starting to run dry.

"Okay, now close your eyes" Asriel tells her, she furrowed her eyebrows at him for a moment, but she gave a sigh and covered her eyes anyway.

"Okay, come on" he takes ahold of her hand and guides her through the darkness, the surprise better be worth it, she thought.

They walked for about half a minute before Asriel stopped, Espeon almost bumping into him.

"We're here, you can look now" he tells her, she wastes no time in taking off her blindfold, she looks down to see...

A bunch of yellow flowers...

"This is what you dragged me all the way out here to see?!" She hissed at the goat boy, He shook his head and pointed up, she looks up to where he was pointing.

Immediately, she lost all anger and gasped in surprise when she saw the moonlight shining through a hole, a hole to the surface...

"What is that?" Espeon asked, referring to the large, glowing white sphere in the sky, she had never seen or heard of anything like it before.

"I've read about it before, it's called 'the moon', in the human world it's what appears at night time, and it affects the water too!" Asriel replied.

"It's beautiful!" She stared in awe at the moon, she had never felt the need to escape the underground like most monsters, she was happy living here.

But seeing a moon like this is enough to want to leave the underground, there must be so many other beautiful things in the human world.

"Buttercups?" Espeon looked down at he ground where she saw the yellow flowers bloom, there was so many of them.

"Yeah, my dad planted them here the year I was born, he has thousands of them growing in his throne room, but he ones here grew much faster and preserved much longer" he told her.

Espeon smiled and hugged Asriel, taking the goat boy by surprise, but he hugged her back anyway.

"Thank you Asriel" she smiled and let go, sitting on the buttercup flowers and stared up at the moon, she could just sit there for hours.

"You don't want to leave, do you?" Asriel chuckled, she shook her head with a soft giggle, and with that, he sat next to her.

They sat there and talked while staring at the moon for hours, even after it disappeared from their line of sight, but they decided to head back when they saw the sun begin to rise.
