Espeon lowered a bouquet of buttercup flowers onto a bed of more of the same flowers, she smiles a sad smile.

It's been decades since Asriel and Chara had passed away, and the human boy's resting place had transformed into a beautiful bed of golden flowers.

Every year on the day the children died, Espeon returned to the fallen human's grave to place a bouquet of flowers and pay her respects to her dear friends.

"I guess I should be going now" Espeon smiled sadly as she stood to her feet and dusted off her purple dress.

She turned and left the small cave, turning back for a few moments before continuing her way towards the catacombs.

Things had changed in the past few years, she had met so many more monsters that she called her friends, she met Sans and Papyrus when they suddenly showed up in snowdin one day, Undyne who saved her life a few years back, Alphys who shared her obsession with anime, Mettaton who she sang with and so many more monsters had found a place in her heart.

She was still close with the Asgore and Toriel, Evan after their divorce, after the death of His two sons the king had become enraged and declared any human that fell into the underground to be executed by the royal guard, disgusted by his ideals, Toriel left and moved back into their old home in the ruins

Six humans have fallen since Chara, and all of them had perished by Asgore's hand, his plan was to possess seven human souls to shatter the barrier so the monsters could be set free.

All Espeon prayed for was for a fallen human, a fallen human that would free the monsters of the underground and bring peace to both human and monsters, but was that thinking irrationally? Perhaps, but peace was what all she wanted in times like these.

After passing through the Catacombs cautiously, Espeon proceeded forward towards the ruins, a place she had grown up with Asriel and Chara, she missed them terribly.

"I'm back, Ms Toriel" Espeon called out as she knocked on the door twice, there was silence for a moment before she could hear footsteps approach the door, it opened to reveal the woman who was once the queen of monsters.

"Welcome back, dear" she smiled, "I made some golden flower tea if you would like some before you return home".

"Yes, that would be great" Espeon smiled as she closed the door behind her, following Toriel to the living room and sat down at the table.

Toriel disappeared and returned from the kitchen with two tea cups and a elegant looking tea pot.

"Please be careful, it's still hot" Toriel warned the lavender-haired girl as she poured the tea into the tea cup, the florescent aroma of the golden buttercup flowers filled her nose.

Toriel sat down across from Espeon as she poured some tea in a cup for herself.

"So, how had you been lately?" Toriel broke the ie with Espeon after the two took a sip of tea in silence.

"I've been okay I suppose" Espeon replied, "how about you, had you been holding up okay?"

"I guess I've been better, it's been hard living here since my son passed away and my husband left, but I'm a strong woman, I can take are of myself" Toriel chuckled before taking another sip of her tea.

Espeon knew it was hard for Toriel, living alone in the ruins with nobody but the monsters in the catacombs, making sure Toriel was doing okay was another reason Espeon returned once every year.

"Thank you for the tea Ms Toriel, but I should be going, I had to stop by a friend's place on the way back home" Espeon replied as she picked up her empty cup of tea, but before she could take it to the kitchen to wash up, Toriel grasped her shoulder gently.

"It's okay dear, I'll take care of it" Toriel told the girl.

Espeon said her goodbyes and left down the stairs that lead to the exit of the ruins

The hallways were long and felt eternal, by eventually she reached the large door with the delta runs engraved on it.

Espeon reached down and gently took ahold of the golden heart locket with the same symbol engraved into it, the golden locket that was given to her that day so many years ago.

Espeon took hold of the door and opened it, light immediately swarmed the room for a moment before she loses the door behind her.
